Life is often hard on children who don't fit neatly into the category of 'boy' or 'girl,' especially when it comes to making friends. But thanks to a group at the Utah Pride Center, this aspect of growing up gender variant may be a little less difficult.

Kids Like Me is a playgroup for children that the Center calls "gender exceptional," and for children whose parents identify as transgender, genderqueer, gender variant or any gender identity that falls outside of mainstream definitions of masculinity and femininity. Its purpose, the Center said, is not to shoehorn children into any particular gender label or identity, but to help them find friendship and feel less alone.
