get vitamin E in body cream and put it as often as you want, it will help vs the itching.
You could also take some antihistamine (pillz vs allergies)

Can we get a close up ?

Very cool, Jaimey! As was already said make sure to keep it well moisturized. You can also use something like A&D ointment on it. That's what I used mine and they were never unbearable. :):)

At the moment, I'm using Aquafor because that's what my dude told me to use...I'll look into the vitamin E stuff though.

...If I can figure out how to get a better photo, I'll do it.  :D  It'll be tomorrow night though.  I'm just not very tech savvy.   :icon_userfriendly:

Oh, that is GORGEOUS.  :o

I'm a sucker for all black work, I must admit.  For some reason black always itches the most for me, but it's part of the healing process.  Try really hard not to itch!  It can pull of scabs and some ink may come with it.  You can always get touch-ups, but avoiding those is a plus.  I've found the back area can be more itchy than others too.  Possibly psychological, since itching your own back is difficult anyway.

I use A&D ointment too, since that's what my artist recommends.  Just don't overdo it or let it get too wet, since that can turn the scabs to mush...and again, they might come off prematurely.

Mind over matter is my tried and true anti-itch method.  :D

Just keep reminding yourself that it's permanent, and it's beautiful, and the itching will be gone in a week or so.

Slap it, doesnt damage it like scratching and it kinda helps with the whole itchiness.

Love tats  ;D

Thanks, everyone!  I'm doing my best.  Some of my friends had already told me to slap instead of scratch...I'm doing my best with it.  :D  I have also just very lightly rubbed the surface of my shirt...but not moving the shirt across my skin.  It's just enough, usually.  A lot of the tat seems to be healed, there are just a couple spots that are taking longer than the rest.

I'm more afraid that when I sleep, that it's getting rubbed.  I turn a lot and I often end up sleeping on my back.  Oh well.  Here's hoping that no touch ups are needed!!!  (especially since I got lightheaded three times when he first started...)

Here's a bigger picture!

I am disappointed in you, I thought you, of all people, would recognize a quote from classic English literature. Here, in 21st century New England, we would say awesome, instead of awful. Wicked awesome! And the quote continues with Jaimey's back, itself--or, in other words, "and saw. Virtue in her shape how lovely."

That's really awesome!

Personally, I use natural cocoa butter lotion for my tattoo because that's what my guy recommended.  And so far so good.  Though I learned the hard way not to even touch the darn thing with a washcloth while it's still healing.

If I'm Miltoning I prefer

'The mind can make a heaven out of hell or a hell out of heaven"'

or

'Loneliness is the first thing which God's eye named, not good'

Heh, well it's Milton via The Crow (the film, not the book).  The double reference makes me feel extra nerdy, especially since I will eventually be an English professor.

Thats a sick tattoo! One of my tattoos was itching me so bad and I scratched it when I was half asleep and it tore some of the ink out. I got a free touch up though, and it wasnt bad.

Thanks!  I really hope I won't have to get any touch-ups...it hurt bad enough the first time.  Although, it's dumb for me to say that because I'm already thinking about what my next five will be.  ::)

Lol getting tattoos is addicting! Some of mine didnt hurt at all depending where I got them. I would imagine your probably really hurt over the shoulder blade. The one on my chest hurt really bad because it is all skin and bone.

Phew! I am glad you took it as a compliment, for so I meant it. I was uncertain about the pronoun, though, and enough sparks have been flying around here as is.

I'd attribute our recent lack of harmony to recent visits of TS types who often bring a divisive type of earnestness to the proceedings.

Actually, the worst parts were the letters that lay just on either side of my spine...he did the bird with the big needles, so it didn't really take that long and I was already used to it.  :)  Right next to the spine, though?  Not fun.  In fact, when he got done with the letters, he let me have a break and my hands were shaking.

You don't have to worry about that with me.   There are so many things in this world far more offensive than a pronoun.  :)  And I have to agree with Pica...a lot of our unrest does seem to come from TS types who are much more fervent in the gender department.  I like the laid back, never get bent out of shape way of doing things.  It just feels so much better.  :-*
