hi Rachel and Katie-.It seems being on hrt for 7 months, I 've reached a point where Iam noticing the sensuality a woman has and different trigger points on the body, for me one of them is the elbows, another is behind the knees. Jolene

Hi everybody.

I'm Sophie, an 62 yrs old HSB woman. I has my affirmation almost 2 yrs ago i Bangkok, Thailand.
(On January 18, 2005, I remember it, as it was yesterday.)

I started my new life on the 10 of December 2001, and got the hormone theraphy the 20 December 2001.
The first day I was out in town as the girl I really am, was 16 January 2002.
From this day my family would not see me anymore, they could'nt come to terms with the fact that I've always been a woman in disguise. I tried to keep that as a secret fo many yrs...... but on this day (December 10) I could'nt bear it anymore.
Today I have no contact at all, with my old family, but thanks to my very good friend and soulsister Susanne, I got a new family. 2½ yrs ago, we both met a young girl with a new born baby. We "adobted" her, and today we have a daughter and the most wonderful little grandson. I'm "Granny" and Susanne is "Auntie"

Welcome, you are not alone anymore. This board is life changing and life enhancing, so take your time to explore, get the feel of this wonderful community and then when you are ready get involved. I am so glad to be back to the fold. This feels like home. I went through a very hard time, a marriage break-up after 26 years. Like a wounded animal I went into hidding, licking my wounds and wandering where did I go wrong? Luckily I met a beautiful woman who is now my partner, girlfriend, lover, inspiration and treasure. Her name is Eileen, she acceept me as I am as do her children. My own children have come back to me too and together we celebrate and appreciate each other's uniqueness.

I am in counselling now and hope to start hormones as soon as I can. The  thing I hope to gleen most from you ladies is feminine friendship and in order to draw out more and more of my feminine nature. I am in Minnesota and would welcome correspondence here in Susan's Place or at via e-mail at meowtokitty@yahoo.com

Thaks a lot for your welcome. It is very essential for me, to tell everyone about HBS.

HBS is a proven Physiological Condition not Transgender or Trans anything. You'll maybee ask WHY?
I'll tell you and other interrested people:

Here in Denmark we have something like a war on words, because a lot of the transvestites say: "TV and TS are just 2 of a kind." Perhaps they say so, because they want to legalize their own inward urge.

Thats why I'm so glad, to left the "trans" term behind me.

I still believe in: We are NOT Trans anything.

But first of all, I'm så happy I'm a woman now...... not only one in disguise. :)

So please help me, with valid arguments against those people.

Am I too hard right now? I really don't hope so, but I had to get i out. Forgive me if I'm annoying anyone, it is not my goal.

Excuse my ignorance but what does HBS stand for and what does it mean?
Thanks.

hbs stands for harry benjamin's syndrome

as stated in a different post, i don't support any notion that transsexualism is [a form of]/related to/a degree of] intersexuality.

i don't support any opinion that transsexualism is related to/is a form of intersexuality

[transsexualism]

"Transsexualism is a profound form of gender dysphoria where there is a conviction of being "trapped in the wrong body" and the need to express oneself and to be as far as is possible in the gender to which one feels comfortable".
www.northernconcord.org.uk/definiti.htm

[intersexuality]

"There are several entirely separate biological or chromosomal triggers that create an intersex condition. Some are inherited, some are congenital (the result of a biological accident) but the condition or potential for it is inherent at birth. Each condition has a varying degree of incidence through the population and a different set of complications, but all of them have in common the ability to wreck lives if the issues are not dealt with openly and successfully".

http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/0-9/4health/body/gen_intersex.html

there isn't any evidence in the medical literature that [proves] that transsexualism is a [chromosomal, genetic, or biological condition]

my opinion is that some transsexuals label themselves as [intersexed] to validate their [transsexuality]
