Title: The guitar I play
Post by: cindianna_jones on January 07, 2007, 06:42:48 PM
Kristi has been after me to tell her what guitar I play.... it's been going on for a few days now...  Now, I think that she's after my little kitarist animation.  But I'll consider the question in the serious form first.  I do have several guitars and other stringed instruments.  But kitties, I have a special one dear to my heart I picked up last year.

So here's my favorite guitar I play.  It's a Fender shop custom jazz bass. Fender made this one all by its little self. Jason, in the Fender shop devoted a portion of his life to build this wonderful instrument.  And now I have it. There is nothing else like it in the world. Yea... I'm spoiled  >:D

Now let's see about the kitarist.... hmmm where is she?....  Oh here she is:

Thanks so much, Cindi!  Sorry, I couldn't resist prying the info out of you. :-*

Your baby is indeed beautiful.  I've heard of Jason's work and you are a lucky girl ideed!  I'm a regular on the Fender Forum, too.  The one in your avatar looks like a tele headstock, so I was really curious.

I have a couple of Strats that I play, though none as nice as your bass.  My favorite is a Deluxe Super Strat, crimson red transparent with rosewood fretboard and all gold hardware.  It plays great with Graphtech saddles and it's really pretty.

I'm more of an acoustic player.  My main axe is a Martin SPCD-16TRE.  It's got a bookmatched spruce top, tortise shell binding all around with snowflake abalone inlaid all over it, gold hardware and and the Martin Fishman electronics.  I had it customized by Ray Henning, the guy who does a lot of the work for the Austin music scene.  For a 12 string I play a Takamine EF 400 S.  My #2 is a Fender F270-CSE, which is always there for my backup acoustic/electric.  Plus I have a couple of Yamahas and another Martin and a really cool Seagull.  My mandolin that I play is a Fender electric and I even have a collection of ukes.  My fav of those was my grandfather's, a very old Martin that sounds incredible.  O well, nuff said.  If there's any interest I'll post a few pics.  Many other noise makers make up my music room and I guess it's time to thin out the herd, but I have a hard time letting go.

Anyway, thanks for coming out of the closet about your axe!  I promise not to steal your cute little kitarist (at least not while you're looking anyway!).

Love,

Kristi, you sound very serious with your music.  I look at 'em more than play 'em.  I do love to play but only perform with the orchestras playing the cello.

You may have seen me on the Fender forum!

Don't do it, Kristi!  I sold my violin and viola years ago - and I still miss them even though I very very rarely played them.

There are very few other things that I miss in life.

Nice bass!

My music room is very crowded. Highlights include an amazing fiddle, Collings mandolin and acoustic guitar.

My only guitar is my Alvarez Artist Fusion accoustic/electric with equilizer.  It's technical color is "blue fusion" however it's actually more of a purple.  It has a bookmarked maple (if I remember) body and neck with a rosewood fret board accented with silver nickel keys and frets.  It also has abalone inlays in the fret board and around the sound hole.

It was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen many, many years ago and had to buy it (I still think it's the prettiest guitar I've ever seen :P ).  I thought I had a pic of it somewhere but I guess not.

My electric guitar was a USA made Fender Stratocaster '79..
But due to lack of money I was forced to sell it about 12 years ago  :'( :'(

Now I only got an acoustic one, but I want to learn to play  saxophone  :P :P

Liz.... ooooohhhh pretty!  That Les Paul looks particularly tempting. I'd sure like to play that one for an afternoon.
