I've decided to keep one, and use my preferred one as a nickname.
My name is gendered. It's an undeniably female first name.
However I love my name quite honestly. I've never felt the dislike toward it that other transpeople seem to feel; though I remember when I was six I wanted to change it to "Crystal" for unrelated reasons.
I've heard of boys with female names, bio-boys at that. "Ashley", "Lindsay", and "Stacie" seem to be popular ones.
A lot of people have gender-blender names. Gender neutral ones, or ones connected to the opposite gender in their society.
My birth name is Robyn and I currently going by Rob ... but plan to come up a new first name and put Robyn as my middle name
My birth name is actually a male one, technically, though it's very uncommon in North America, and most would assume it's just a gender neutral name. I still want to change it, though, because I have a mild speech impediment (I had a lisp that was never 100% 'corrected') and actually have trouble saying my own name sometimes x3
Nope, I hated my birth name from about age 4.
It never fit; even living as a boy, I could think of boy names that fit better than the one I had.
I kept a form of my birth name as a middle name.
I have been called 'Randy' by my family all of my life. It is no stretch to put an 'I' on it-I've seen lots of girls named Randi so it works for me.
Randi
The short version of my new name is the diminutive version of the old name. So in a way I did keep it.
I kept my first name. It's a unisex name and my spelling is the guy's spelling. I have started going by my middle, chosen name more often though.
I extended my first and shortened my last and just use middle initial so my intials are still the same
I opted for the feminine version of my name (first and middle), which surprisingly sounds quite nice.
lol I just copied Britney Spears. =3
