Sometimes I really can't believe my eyes. When I saw this article (here) I could literally feel my blood pressure going through the roof. So, the Human Rights Scampaign, the "largest" LGB(fake-t) rights organization in the U.S., is offering a training program for transgender job seekers. ("Back to Work: Empowering Transgender Job Seekers") Yes, your eyes are not betraying you. You read correctly. The first seminar is set for Boston on Feb 26-27. Can you f---ing believe this?
HRC has betrayed the trans community over and over and over again. Never in my life will I forget sitting in the audience in 2007 at the Southern Comfort Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and listening to Joe Solmonese promise to the hundreds of proud trans people gathered that his organization would only support a trans-inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). I was skeptical, and I still hated their elitist organization, but I figured since they blatantly reported they would finally include us, in front of hundreds of people, they would maintain their world. Ha! They blatantly lied, lied, lied.
