What hobbies do you have? (How did they become your hobbies?)
mine are reading, studying, writing, biking, soccer, badminton, martial arts, taking pictures, video gaming, anime/manga, cosplay, and have just recently started collecting phone ketai
(ive always been a
bookworm avid reader, writing random things like short stories, dont really recall how i got started with soccer, played badminton in HS, took karate lessons in junior HS, joined the photo club in junior HS, was a wee tyke when my dad brought a video game system home one day (wasnt long before i kicked his butt in the games lol), when i was a wee tyke i happened across a Bishoujo Senshi character intro book in a store and
BAM! i was hooked, bought some phone ketai for good luck near the end of last year
My hobbies are things involving starting a revolution.
My paid-work involves creating things, for example handcrafts, or making drawings, or writing stories and finding people who will agree to pay a certain amount of money for that thing. It's pretty fun, actually.
My favorite thing to pass the time is playing old videogames (no, I'm not an avid gamer. I don't even own a TV). There is a very distinct sense of how things "were" with those games, for example, the silly pointless storylines, the no-frills game play. Stuff like that, the things which made a game "good" back in the day.
I can't help but contrast it with modern games, which try to market themselves more like an interactive movie, which is totally not what I personally want.
I also like doing drawings of things which exists only inside my head. Those things sell well for a certain kind of people. There is a certain expression of things which cannot be expressed in other way, I like to say that what I paint are the things I cannot speak. Naturally, this puts me with the people who can't do a portrait to save their lives.
I'm not a very sportsperson, so the most physical I get, is getting intimate with husband. And that can be tiring, lol
Back when I was a tiny zaddyling, parents sent me to some american football, to tae kwon do, and tried to make me sportsy, but it never did work. Apparently, I'm not very good at following rules. I remember I liked tae kwon do up until the point of the physical combat, after that, I lost interest. Fighting is not nice :<
Oh, I almost forgot, another of my hobbies / life styles, involves dressing like a girl, with makeup and all. Some other times I dress like a guy, with combat boots and a though jacket. It's nice to see the reaction of people when they see a girly fem thing one day, and a garish thugh boy the next.
I love being an androgyne.
Photography. When I'm not on here, I am either taking photos or deleting, deleting, crop and tune, delete, crop and tune...
I have about 3,000 to go through at the moment, I have to dedicate more time to them. Since the weather is so cold, and I can't quite use my leg on rough terrain right now, I have the time to work on them. But it's a concentration kind of thing that makes me nap to much. An hour, sleep an hour. Then I can't get to sleep at might, so I lose my ability to concentrate.
I also paint, draw, any medium will do. I'm carving wood recently, I think I'll try some stone this spring/summer. I haven't any visions of a competed idea for that, yet. Like it would turn out that way! LOL
I don't have a lot of hobbies right now. I do like to spend time with the wife on the back porch drinking adult beverages and chatting about our life. The other hobby i have at the moment is me and my daughter are doing a complete restoration on a car for her. We've done everything from totally disassembling it to rebuilding the engine to welding and sandblasting and bodywork, and now we're finally painting it. We have done ALL of the work ourself. Its a classic late 70's car with a big engine and a 4 speed, and she'll have the only one in the parking lot at high school LOL...... Shes turned into quite the gearhead.
That is so cool! She's just got to be one of the most envied kids when she gets to roll into the parking lot the first time. And I'm sure forever after that.
And you both are working on it together.
I have a daughter who's just about to get her drivers license. But she's way more into her horses. Hmmm...maybe my younger one though. But she's not to mechanical. Maybe it's my opportunity to teach her, it would be so fun to do that and to get to do it with my daughter. My wheels are turnin' now! I've owned a few Muscle Cars and helped my friends build some of the fastest cars in the Valley. (till the next one came along)
Let us know when it's done and just how jealous the other kids are!
I'm poor, so I'm taking up gardening in an effort to grow some of my own food. I try to do this with dumpster-dived and scavenged materials.
Dumpster-diving I'd also call a hobby, since I get a lot of pleasure out of it. My currrent favorite pants were all dived.
We compost with worms, and I'm trying to decide if I want to start bringing home food waste from restaurant dumpsters to feed worms with.
The more worms, the more poo, the more free dirt.
I think I feel like making some art again, oddly enough involving duplicate portland cement casts-or maybe rubber casts-of my hands and putting them all over the place at my current residence-using them as fencepost tops, plant-pot holders, birdfeeders, possibly a bunch of them as a mailbox protector...
No, I don't quite know how to make the plaster casts of my hands, but I think I can figure it out.
Not sure if I'll have time for that one, but it's a nice idea...
I'm thinking about getting a beehive going, but a live bee colony is very expensive. A starter colony with a bred queen runs around $85 to start. Total cost of getting a hive made and bees in it would be about $150, well, unless my wife's willing to donate the nasty old igloo cooler she collects roadkill in to let me convert into a beehive. I'd rather build a box though.
Costly pets, and with just one hive, it's not like I could sell too much honey.
But bees are cool.
Hey, thanks for asking.
I love a good read - very fond of the eighteenth century novel, Kurt Vonnegut and London social history. I like books about things I've never thought of before, history of the snowman, Syrian lingerie, eighteenth century gay subcultures. I like children's books, classic essays like Montaigne, Bacon, Erasmus and a little bit of sociology/psychology - Solitude by Anthony Storr is good. I read literary theory as well. - I could have just said I like reading, but that's pretty vague, there are whole universes in a decent bunch of books. I love the tingling feeling you get when you walk into a second-hand bookshop.
I like dancing around to music, i get to gigs when I can but mainly it's the cranked up cd. I enjoy going to a shop where they sell CDs for a quid and getting ten, using only the packaging as information about what may be inside. The surprise and excitement is always so much better than buying a cd that you already have a fair idea of.
I love wandering around London's free museums, I like going to the same museum with different people because they see it in different ways. The Museum of London, The Docklands Museum and the John Soame's Museum are my favourites.
I love wandering London, either alone or with someone. There is always lots of interesting human drama to watch and you often bump into new places in familiar areas.
I write, I'm cracking on well with my novel - will be finished by Easter and I'm very happy with it. Writing of course involves a lot of daydreaming as well and that is fun.
I enjoy theatre, used to go and see serious plays but I'm discovering the pleasures of a mindless musical. I tend to go bi-monthly. I used to act and when I was a student I also wrote, compered, did stand-up and was in charge of the props cupboard. I've not performed for a few years but this summer me and some friends (who are semi-pro comedians/ennes) are taking a sketch show up to Edinburgh.
I like a pint of Guinness and a set the world to rights, not against the odd film and on very rare occasions play computer games (Civilisation IV is very addictive).
Not one for sport though, if I got to a game, I watch the crowds.

consider getting two-part sillicone, it dries in about 15 minutes.
you can also use white cement / plaste / spanish is "yeso" in some sort of plate in which you put your hands
Then once you have the rough mold, you can varnish it with some latex or some other material which has low adherence
when it's dry, you can make the pieces
if you don't want to have a very smooth finish, you can probably use the cement mold as is, with maybe some vaseline or equivalent to prevent the thing being poured in the mold to stick.
I do molds out of carved avocado seeds to make figures of epoxy clay.
I like making things and throwing my self down hills on my long board.
I sing, drum, write poems, and weave. I'm about to move to the south west of England and make at least one of these a livelihood - the weaving for definite (I've been putting it off for years), and perhaps starting a singing group too. Dancing like a loon is also on my todo list!
I write, roller skate, aggressive skate I play xbox and until recently I was on a women's roller Derby team.
I love messing with computers, overclocking them and trying to get the most out of anything. I also love tuning up, fixing and taking care of my car's maintance (I have a Ford Focus right now).
I also like to read, draw, listen to music, drive, travel and build/fix stuff.
I also have a thing for photogaphy, but I need a decent camera x.x

Computer Games
Dancing! I do salsa/rueda de casino, west coast swing, belly dancing, some ballroom, contra, tango, blues, and the "funky white man wiggle" (aka bad club dancing). A few weeks ago, my friend asked if I wanted to go do something, and the other person there said that I couldn't, as I'd be out dancing. When I asked how she knew that, she replied that I'm always out dancing. But yeah, I try to go 3-4 times per week.
I also love to play music. I play viola and piano and just started up with a Balinese gamelan group, which is a lot of fun.
Erm, what else... I do silversmithing and jewelery making. I worked as a jeweler for a few years. However, school got in the way, so I'm back to just making a piece here and there as a hobby.
I love just about anything outside too. I love hiking and skiing and used to play soccer and tennis, but I don't get around to playing much anymore. I raced sail boats for a short while, which I'd love to get back into.
Overall, I kind of have hobby ADD. I have a few too many, so I tend to jump around a lot. Oh well, they all make me happy.
are taking a sketch show up to Edinburgh.
You're going to the Fringe? You so rock.
I'm interested in almost everything, it will last me dozens of lives until I coult do it all.
Now I'm trying to improve at drawing and painting (if I have a good tune), I'm also interested in airbrush
After some time have impulsion to make some computer game and want to do any cartoon film
At garage I have a car to assemble (almost finnished, but untouched at least year)
As I bought old house there is lot of things to do, repair, ... - I really like to do it (I have many ideas to realize there)
When I will have some time I want to start design and make clothes and other stuff
And lots of things which was forgotten, like metal sculpture (not even started), lots of games (same at designing phase, same at alpha versiones), few electronic gadgets (most of them to state when work enough)......
But most time I just came from work, watch TV, have some fun witch childrens, dinner and go sleep. And at weekend I sleep most time :-\
Hobbies of the idless... Hmm. Over the last few years I've come to notice that the list changes rapidly.
I seem to go with whatever 'hobby' adds for an interesting situation at that time and place.
However, there's also some that always make their return such as reading, writing and gaming.
Overal my social life occupies my spare time and it depends on the people I am with what hobbies are exercised.

Cheers, been cast in a few plays which I could never actually do for various reasons - so now I actually get a chance to go, I can't wait.
It's like second only to Burning Man I think in terms of people from here who go there. Everyone I've ever talked to who had done the Fringe just raves about it. Good luck, take pictures, and keep us all posted.
I Love performing most of the time it is just a case of playing the fool but I love being in plays performing my poetry I'm slowly putting together a one person show about me, mostly gender diversity with a little bit of asexual stuff I also like to paint, play trumpet, write poetry, and graphics programming on my pc.
