Title: Waxing After Surgery
Post by: Siren on February 02, 2011, 06:51:17 AM
As I prefer the smooth look I could do with waxing down below (I prefer it to shaving). Any thoughts on when it's safe to do this? I'm 3 months post-op now and everything looks to be fairly well healed, but I wouldn't want to cause any damage to the new scars.
Veet is an option but again this could cause possibly cause a reaction on new scar tissue.
Does anyone have any experience of this kind of thing?

I would imagine 3 months in would be kool and ok....

But i'd defo get it done in a saloon maself....

If all the stitches, sutures be gone and yous be clean as a whistle tissue wise... cannot see why there would be a problem?

If you have a b/f i'm sure he'd shave you... some chaps are well into this... :o

LOL!!!  My first boyfriend many years ago used to trim my girl down there while I lay back and relaxed, he was really into it....

Got a bikini wax on Wednesday (9 weeks post-op) and everything was fine.
Not into the whole Brazilian thing though; my fiancé would get a little creeped out if I looked like a 10yr old girl down there.

I waited 4 months.  I contacted the clinic, and they told me 3 months.  I waited an extra month just to be careful.

Right, I think I need to bite the bullet and get it done soon then. I've never had a bikini wax before. Dreading it, lol

Perhaps this is off-subject a little, but I had the laser tech give me a permenant bikini wax (only no wax) before surgery.  She then also lasered the area the surgeon wanted de-haired.  I haven't had any re-growth.  It's probably too late now, since this is the post-op section, but why not clean it all up beforehand? ???

Yeah I need to find out about this too...not for waxing but for laser.

I had genital laser hair removal before surgery even around the bikini area and waited another five months after surgery having some top up laser around the bikini area again. All was fine. I still need to go again just to get rid of the odd one's that are left. When I phoned my GRS surgeons nurse told me as long as they didn't go near the scars that would be OK. It was.

Hope that helps
