So taxes are a pain to begin with, I can never quite be certain that I am not selling my soul when I click the little 'Final Submit' button as I e-file, but this is getting just plain ridiculous. I got an e-mail from H&R Block saying they may or may not have miffed something up on my taxes last year, and so this year I get to use the Pro-Edition™ free of charge! Oh joy! Not only am I aggravated because I still haven't received my W2 forms, but additionally I now have to be concerned that I am going to end up owing money I don't have this year.
Ugh. I am still unemployed, have yet to receive any of my unemployment compensation, and now this? Please, just please sweet baby Cheezus, can a girl catch a break?! :eusa_wall:
I wonder if anyone really benefits from the complicated tax systems we all have to endure?

The people who you pay money to do the taxes, since it is too complicated for any sane person to understand.

And don't forget the tax man.
I'm in a similar boat.
I got divorced last year and didn't realize I had to change my tax status from married to single. I didn't do that until October! :( and then they started taking out $400 more a month eeeek. I think I owe at least like $1500 this year now :(

Yeah I feel for ya. I also haven't gotten my forms yet, so I can't fill out most of the stuff online. I'm really hoping to get a refund so I can go on paying the rent for a little longer. Good luck to us both =)

Really, I think it is preposterous to be held accountable to follow a law, when the average person cannot necessarily understand whether or not they are acting lawfully.
My gripe is that I have one 1099 left to get from a bank before I can file. I've had all my other forms for 2 weeks now. Ive heard talk about delays with state and federal refunds this year... the sooner you can file the better.
My ex contacted me last night. She always contacts me about money issues, sigh.
She tried to con me out of writing off on my taxes the alimony payments I've been paying her.
I was like no way...they're alimony, In need all the help I can get.
Then she miscalculated so she didnt get all of them in there on her taxes. I guess she'll have to revise hers.

The founding fathers of the United States felt the same way. Unfortunately, not every politician after them shared the same sentiment.
