Title: Guys with the tri top
Post by: Michael Joseph on February 16, 2011, 11:31:20 PM
Or I guess maybe any othher underworks binder, how long have they lasted you before they've stretched out enough to not bind as well?

My tri-top lasted a year and a half of being the only binder. I used it about 12 hours a day every day sometimes more sometimes a little less. Really I could still use it but the fabric frayed and there are two little holes in it. I also machine washed and dried it every few days so mine was incredibly durable.

I can't wear my tri-top. Too tight. My 997 has lasted me maybe 2 years (worn 3-5 days a week for 5-8 hours a day). Now it's really worn out and it's not staying in place.

Oh wow thats pretty long. Thanks for your replies. Also, how do you get it on? Because when my sister helps me get it on, I can slip it on pretty quick. When Im on my on I have to step into it, and it takes me a while

With my tri-top I had to get both arms through, pull it down as far as I could, and then un-roll the back and adjust it. It took some time but eventually it wore out after a few weeks where I could get it on in a couple minutes. In case you meant the double front I just fold the bottom over the front of the top (I hope that made sense), then pull it over my head and yank the bottom down. Got that one on no problem but I think I got mine a size too big whereas I got my tri-top a size too small

Ok cool Ill have to try that. When I was trying to get it on over my head I was putting one arm in and my head I think and then it would get stuck on my shoulder when trying to get my other arm in. Im sorry for all the questions, but Im ordering another one soon, do you reccomend the double front?

With the tri-top I can't put it on by pulling it over my head. it gets bunched up above my chest and can't be pulled down. Takes awhile when I step into it because my hips are wider than my chest but I can get it on that way.

Personally I can't say one way or the other with the double front. I think I got a size too big so my chest area bounces way worse if I wear it without doubling it up. Also it rolls a lot. I loved the tri-top though. I have to say though I do love the hip flattening and smaller stomach affect of the double front. I'm about a 38 D to 38 DD so it could just be the poor thing can't keep my chest flat just throwing that out there because I don't know how big your chest is but I thought it might help you.

Ya I think thats what it is for me. And my hips are why it takes so long. I have to wrestle with it for a few minutes to get it over them

If you can get it up to your waist, just tuck your arms/hands into the holes and pull from the shoulder part.

I havent tried that yet, but that sounds like it will work much easier than my way, thank you

I think im a 36 D so about the same. Maybe Ill just give it a try to see how it works for me, because we're bout the same size it sounds

To get mine on, I put both arms in first and kind of pull it out as much as I can whilst I put my head in. It ALWAYS gets stuck around the top of my chest but it's not cripplingly painful, so I just spend a couple of minutes wiggling around and tugging it down bit by bit at the front and back. Once I've got the back pulled down properly it all sort of falls into place. Doesn't make it much easier, but it's the only way that works for me! Some guys have more success pulling it up over their hips, but I wasn't able to do that, so I guess it varies person to person, depending on things like your body type. Either way it takes a lot of practice, but I've heard it gets easier the more you wear it!

I've had a total of 4 tri-tops over the four years I've been binding.  They seem to last a year on average, and I bind for about 18 hours a day, every day.

this may sound weird but i actually get my tri-top on inside out. and ive only had mine about 5 months but its still in great condition. i do hav trouble gettin it on after a shower cuz my body is kinda sticky i gess. also evry1 sez the tri-top rolls a lot but i hav never had that happen to me.

So I guess Im the only one who pulls it over my hips, but thats ok because it is getting easier!

hmmm well its kinda hard 2 explain but i'll try:
so ill hav the binder inside out and i put my arms in but not thru the bottom i put the in thru the top. then ill put my head thru the top and pull it ovr. its starts out bunched up but its easy to un-bunch it. if yur still confused i can post a vid if u want.
