Teraina forced to hand over running of workshop due to boycott

A woman has been forced to give up running her Leighton workshop after 17 years' hard work because of a lack of understanding into her trans-sexualism.

Teraina Hird, 66, is "hurt" and "upset" by some of her customer's reactions to her change in appearance from a man to a woman.

Yep, that is what happens in some places.  A lot of TS make the mistake of thinking that just because they change everyone has to go along with it.  When i came out i gave everyone i knew notice since i ran my own business at the time.  If they didnt want to do business with me, that was fine, just let me know.  Luckily i didn't lose much in the way of business and most just said if your performance remains the same we are keeping you.  I know this doesn't happen a lot but it seems to happen more here then anywhere else in the world since people in Hawaii don't seem to have that stick up their ass like in other places..
