So I need a therapist to give me a letter to start T and I have still yet to find one. Today while researching I found Dr.Carl bushong who does therapy over the phone and if I read correctly also offers hormones as well. I tried to google some info on him and found nothing. I was just curious if anyone here has used him or has heard any reviews on him? Thanks :)
here's what I found on T-vox.org (very helpful site for trans people btw)

That last bit about dissatisfaction scares me :/
Well if you live fairly close and the price isn't that much it might be good to go and see him to check him out, you never know your experience could be a good one. Maybe some folks who have seen him will comment on this post.

Don't waste your time or your money. I had several "telephone sessions" with him and learned that his goal had nothing to do with your need to talk or his need to listen. His objective is to talk, talk, talk, until your session is over and guess what.. let's set up your next telephone session. He will NOT give you His number he calls you. BTW, your payment has to clear through PayPal before he calls you. IMO the goal is to milk as many sessions out of you as possible. This is my opinion. FWIW. There are plenty of experienced GI counselors and therapists out there in each state you can meet with face to face. Good luck Andy.

Hey Andy . . you might want to check out Dr Graham Peveller for a transgender letter (HRT) and for SRS . e-mail is etherapy@gmail.com . . . . website is gendertherapist.com. He gets back to you in seconds and charges about $50 per session or $40 as a bulk rate. You'll need 8-10 sessions for a therapy hrt letter . . and 6-8 sessions for an SRS letter. He also has connections to Dr Preecha in Thailand for SRS. I think all you'll need is one letter from him. Good luck . . .
Can you tell me more about your experience? What you wrote was eerily similar to my experience. I have had one phone appointment with him. It was scheduled late at night. He talks and talks about a variety of subjects with very few questions about personal history or the specifics of his program. He sounds like an infomercial proclaiming how great his program works. After 50 minutes though, I have no idea what his "program" entails other than what I have read on the transgender care website. As you described, our session ended and he asked to reschedule another appt. to discuss further. I hung up thinking what's to discuss?
I don't need to hear 50 minutes of suicide rates, what doesn't work in hormone therapy, the great results his girls have had, and general conversation. To be honest, I thought he was inebriated. He has a very boisterous laugh and our conversation was more akin to a cocktail party than a serious discussion of hormone therapy protocols.
That said, I have seen a psychiatrist that uses conversational tones to gauge the mental status of their patients. As he was talking with me it crossed my mind that he may have been using that technique since he is a psychologist (I think). But overall, I just felt like the laughs, the rambling thoughts, were kinda creepy. I tried to steer the conversation to the actual program and what he needed to know about me to progress on that direction. He talks a lot.
I already paid for another appointment. I will be more direct on this conversation. The smoke and mirrors routine is a waste of money. It's like those "6 steps to a bikini body" that they never tell you about but you waste 30 minutes watching some infomercial. Finally you realize the DVD is stuff you already know. I'm starting to think this is the same.
