Title: Frustrated with new law
Post by: Nygeel on February 22, 2011, 05:42:54 PM
My little vial of testosterone is near empty. When I first got this vial the clinic I went to was able to E-somethin or other the prescription. I guess it's a way of submitting a prescription electronically. I called my pharmacy today to see if my prescription was ready to be picked up. It turns out the law changed since November where the pharmacy must physically have your prescription in order to fill it. My problem is that the doctor I've been seeing has an office that's 2 hours away and costs around $20 to get there and back (and I can barely afford the T in the first place). Somebody from the clinic thankfully mailed the prescription to the pharmacy. I just wish I was made aware of this law sooner.

Are there laws like this elsewhere?

Ask if they will accept a faxed copy.  Then have the doctor fax it over.

Already did ask that and they don't allow for faxed copies.

I wonder if its a state thing? I live in NY and my doctor gave me some prescriptions and sent them electronically as recent as last month. The only one they didn't sent that way and gave me a paper script for was a muscle relaxer I am on because it's one of those drugs with the potential for abuse.

I'm in NY and testosterone is considered a drug that can be abused.

I know......I didn't know what state you were in or if they allowed those kinds of meds electronically or if thats a federal regulation. Sorry. I should have been more specific. My doctor has never prescribed the one medication the electronic way. I assumed this was always the way it was in NY, obviously not if your doc gave you the T with an electronic script. I am not on T yet....I guess the point of my posting was that I have seen no changes in the way my prescriptions (regardless of what drug schedule) have been given to me. The ones I got paper scripts for still get paper, the electronic ones are still electronic.

Mine still get sent electronically, as of last month anyway. It must be a state thing.

What single compound do you think is at the heart of athletic doping, 'roid rage, & performance enhancing drugs in sports?
