Title: Hello everyone.
Post by: Hyde on February 23, 2011, 04:11:28 AM
I'm an 18 year old FtM aspiring to be successful in the way of Industrial Design (A Science Major) and am currently going to college for it as a freshman. I currently reside solo in the LA area.

I have not started any physical transitioning but I'm starting to ease into coming out to closer college friends and staff at the gym. Unfortunately, My family does not accept my identity regardless of how many times I talk to them under the premise of calm discourse.

Much to my luck though, I pass in public for the most part (never get questioned in men's restroom/locker room), and I'm seeking to get some solid advice from more experienced transmen who are deeper in their transition. I hope to seek out a therapist sometime soon when I get caught up with my work.

I really hope to meet some cool people on this site regardless of identity though. It'd be great to have some new friends to bounce discussion and ideas around.

Hi Hyde,

There was a post the otherday that there were no young people on the site and we found about 50% are under or around 25. Sadly I'm not :P. Glad you are passing so well there are lots of guys here who will talk to you.
No doubt Janet will send a message about the rules. Read the ToS, and be nice and no problems. This is a monitored site so you should be safe from any abusive posts, if you get any report them to a Mod. Don't feel hesitant that is what Susan runs the site for and why we Mod, so you are safe.

Hugs to another brother
Cindy

Welcome to our little family. Over 5500 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:

Hi Hyde
Welcome to the forum dude.
Sorry to read your family doesn't accept you, but we'll do.
I'm sure there are expirienced transmen around here who can help you with your questions.
Good you've joined us.

hugs

@CindyJames: Hi there, it's good to know that there's plenty of other young people around my age range, and likewise good to know there will be no abuse around here. Of course, I'll always have respect for the elders as long as they are nice. Thanks for welcoming me, definitely will brush up on the rules/ToS.

@Gennee: Thanks for your welcome and good luck wishes, I'm glad to meet you too.

@Janet Lynn: Hi Janet, this community seems vast! I've already started posting around and checking out what is around to discuss. Thank you for the links, I will definitely read them.

@Andrew Scott: Hi again! And thanks for your welcome bro. I'm glad I helped you out.

@James Christopher: Thank you for your welcome James, my major is definitely challenging, but fulfilling.

@Annette: Yeah, it's quite unfortunate my family does not accept me, but all the reason to be around here. Thanks for stopping by to welcome me.
