Title: Just a quick Hello! and maybe a little advice/help from a "Mod"!
Post by: mtf on January 16, 2007, 02:53:57 AM
First off, I will share a little about myself...I am not a true "MTF" (contrary to my forum name) I am a friend of a MTF, in my haste and nervousness, I joined this forum (late December) and signed in as MTF..In order to correct my mistake, hopefully a moderator or administer will help me to change my forum name!
Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, I am a friend of a MTF (Amanda..a pre-op..transgender)..I have known "Amanda" for a while now and recently..."Amanda"  shared with me, about the changes that were occurring (hormone related) Now as long as I have known Amanda, I also referred to him as a 'pretty boy" kinda of a early Bon Jovi..too pretty to be male! I even worked construction with Amanda..Anyway during a conversation with Amanda, Amanda shared with me, his/her story..I really wasn't shocked, I guess I was more " surprised and naive"
Too make a lost posting shorter..in order to be a true friend, and being someone really uninformed, (small town) I decided to learn all I can about being a transgender so during my research and to help financially (operation) decided to start a blog about my learning experience..I also came across this forum from a "Google Alert"  that I submitted to...Now I have been reading a lot of the postings and learning a lot! I also made the decision to stop being a spectator and become more of a participator.
Thanks for reading my first posting

Your Friend is lucky to have you as a Comrad and Buddy. Many are running the other way instead of seeing best how to help out in such a difficult situation. Mostly for the same reason your Comrad didn't share this with everyone earlier in life, which is fear. I thank you for being couragious enough to not care what others might think and abandon your friend when they need you most. It's admirbile that you choose to surch out and read up on What it means to live this type of life and even concider helping finacially for the surgery. Thankyou for being there for your friend. Share this site with them so they too can learn more and make friend for more support that will be needed through the transitioning journey. These new friends here may help your friend through some very rough spots that will come from the choices they have made.

Welcome and keep on being a Godd Buddy.

Smiles,
Peggiann

Thank you all for your kind words!  And yes it has been quite the learning curve, I am glad that I can be open minded about things especially when it comes to information also fortunate that "Amanda" was patient when I asked  questions like lol "how do you not make "them" so obvious at work?"
Quoteloose clothing and a sports bra
...I have also suggested that he takes a look at this forum!
Thanks again for responding to my first posting!
