Title: Cowering To Discrimination Is NOT An Option
Post by: Dana Lane on February 28, 2011, 05:35:05 AM
This Wednesday, March 2nd between 4:00 and 6:00 PM,  myself and three others will be in front of the University Council at the University of Pennsylvania, to stand up against a decision to continue a discriminatory and dangerous health care exclusion of treatments for transsexualism of faculty and staff. The interest we are seeing in this issue is incredible.

I have been contacted by The Daily Pennsylvanian concerning an interview on this issue. Hopefully I can talk with them today.

We are going to show the world that we will never give up! We will not idly stand by and watch our brothers and sisters drown in discrimination.  I sometimes feel I am treading water in the middle of an ocean, trying to keep my head just high enough to be able to catch a breath. And I look around me and see my brothers and sisters there as well. And I see employers, landlords, insurers and society in general flying above us and swooping down to try and keep our heads under water. I imagine it would be much easier on society if we simply didn't exist. But we DO exist! And we will not stop until you are simply exhausted from trying to drown us out of existence.

I urge all of you, that are able, to come stand with us.
