Has anyone tried this stuff on their surgery scars?
I mean, I just love the Tiger Balm (red or white, but I prefer the red one). I use it for almost everything and on every spot of my body (yes, even -that- one) and I love the tingling sensation. For those who don't know what is Tiger balm, just Click Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Balm).
Now, I'm wondering if any of you have used it for deep scars (like, the top surgery ones), and if so, did it helped you at all? I'm applying it myself for the pectoral muscles and around the scars (i'm a month post op) but I'm not sure if it would be OK to rub it on the scars themselves.
Of course I won't try with the nipples but would be the tiger balm too harsh for the fresh scars?
Is there any other Tiger Balm fan out there?
I use Tiger Balm whenever some part of my body is pain because it eases the pain considerably. I didn't know there was a type for scars, I just knew about the one for muscle pain.
as a general rule i wouldn't use anything that contains essential oils on fresh scars, i think it will be way too harsh (believe me, i have rubbed menthol balm and mint oil under my nose before and it turned out to be a bad idea when the fumes touched my nasal membranes, and even my upper lip turned cherry red from each substance). i'd get some proper scar treatment balm like kelofibrase (containing: Camphor, Heparin, Urea).
