Eunuch to contest upcoming Tamil Nadu polls

Chennai, Mar.6: Kalki, a eunuch, on the contention of being a woman, has sought the party ticket of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) to contest in the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu.
In Tamil Nadu the elections will be held on April 13 2011.

After filling the application, she said: "I think what made me to come here is because I come from a very stigmatized and marginalized community. As a transgender person, I feel it is time for people like us to participate in politics."
