Title: Swimming question
Post by: mikke on January 19, 2007, 07:17:16 PM
What, in your experience, is the best way to bind for swimming? I've seen so many different opinions on websites that I'd really prefer to hear your guys' personal opinions on this matter. I can't imagine swimming in my underworks binders; they pinch far too much and roll up awkwardly and such. As to rashguards, I'm afraid they wouldn't bind flat enough. I've never really measured properly for a bra so I'm not certain what my *actual* size is but I'd imagine I'm around a B cup if that gives you an idea of my binding capabilities. I wear a small underworks binder which works reasonably well.

I'd like to start swimming again to work out but I haven't been near a swimming pool in about 5 years simply because of this problem. What to do?

Try a frog bra? I haven't tried this but it's def. a lightweight way of binding. I heard it works very well with small chested guys.

Plus, since it's short and lightweight, it wouldn't limit your mobility?

I did try a frog bra at one point and wasn't overly impressed. I found it uncomfortable (scratchy!) and thought a small sports bra actually bound better. And cheaper. I ended up selling it in the end.  Unfortunately a sports bra doesn't get me flat, just kinda smooshed y'know? If I'm wearing a baggy shirt I can get away with it but if I'm wearing something tight like a rashguard...not so much.

yea i've been wondering the same thing...you can get away with wearing a wet suit or something at the beach but u'd look like a tool if u tried that at a pool. swimming is a great workout and i miss it...if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated
