An Education on trans youth

In kindergarten, while she would occasionally wear a princess outfit from the costume box, Maxime became aware of the separation between girls and boys, and her own level of discomfort with her male body.

"I told my mother my life would have been better if I was born a girl," she says. "She didn't blame me, but she said, 'Don't tell anybody at school. People are going to pick on you.'

"That's when I began to realize it wasn't socially acceptable to do those things, and from that point on, I tried as hard as possible to repress my feelings."

That sounds like an interesting story , I will have to read it sometime.
