So, the next step in my RLE will be next month. At 9:20am EDT in the judge's chamber on April 7th, Melody Maia will be legally my name. To me this only ranks second as a significant transition moment to my eventual SRS next year.
Names matter. Good for you!!

You ladies are cheating! It is only 11:18PM on April 6th here on the east coast of the US! LOL! However, yes, I can't stop from hopping up and down on the bed! :D
This is so cool.
You must be going bonkers waiting!
Pre-emptive congratulations today :) xx
I find it interesting that you have to go see a judge. All I had to do a couple years ago was to fill out some paperwork, have a couple long-time friends sign it, get it notarized, send it in and wait a month. Then changeing my social security card and most other records was a breeze.
I did keep my same initials and last name which I think makes the process a bit smoother.
Good luck with everything today!
*yawn*

How did you sleep last night? Just a couple of hours for you now, hon!
Let us know the moment you can!
Congratulations, MELODY MAIA!!!
I did finally get to sleep, but oh boy, 2 hours and counting! Thanks Sandy!
For me it was walk into the government building fill in a form, which basically said. I "previous name" was born at a certain hospital on such a date and I solemnly declare that I abandon "previous name" and will for ever more use my "current name" and then this was signed with my new signature.
Paid a fee and then I walked out with a certified copy of my change of name. Time to complete the process lets say it was definitely under one hour, cost to me, approximately $70. The smile on my face and the feeling of peace within me, priceless.
Kind regards
