Title: this is quick
Post by: Rachael on January 20, 2007, 11:23:22 AM
Ive started to notice changes already, my boobs hurt, the nipples are puffy, and my sense of smell is altered... and its only been a week... is this normal?

very normal.  how quick is [quick]?  i've been on estrogen for two years and the first thing i experienced was [swelling] and [pain] on my boobs too.

Katia is quite right we all change at different rates.  My breasts didn't start to grow and hurt until three weeks after starting HRT, others experience will also be different.

It took me about a month to get to a 36A that fitted a little loosely cup wise, then two months and I'd gone down a band size and fitted a full 34A, right now it's getting a little tight on the cups but I'm off HRT for a while so my current bras will do until I go back on for long enough to go up to a B.

Judgeing from what you've told me you won't need to, I never did, some girls just have small boobs and wearing a padded underwired bra just rounds them out perfectly nagating the need to wear falcies, personally I like M&S body comfort bras, they cost a fair bit but are well worth it.

It varies widely. But yes, it doesn't get much quicker than that ;)

Youth! Sigh.

My nipples started to itch and hurt during the first week, as well as going permanently erect. I noticed the breast buds a few weeks later. Ouch. Ouch. Again again... ouch.

Smell, lol, oh yes... within a few weeks, I suddenly realized I could smell men from like a mile away, like having some superpower. At first, I thought all the men in the office went on a personal hygeine strike. Five months later, I really don't notice it as much now. BUT, I'm guessing that "sense" is still there, doing it's sexual attraction thing, only I'm used to it now.

Sounds like you're doing *great* :)

i forgot to mention about the [superpower] smell abitility. fortunately i'm [not] attracted to men otherwise it'd be a problem to get near them. ;)

.....and to think I used to go to into 'mens rooms/toilets' by necessity you understand  :o, I now find my sense of smell to be sharp enough to join the ranks of Vulcan females. ( Star Trek fans may understand where I am coming from in this context ).  I have not had the benefit of full dose hormone therapy therefore I guess it's my mindset at work, I am thinking females thoughts, acting as one, enduring the usual trials of women and smelly men seem to be one of those things.

Question is, is MAN SMELL in fact the odour of testosterone?  :-\
