Hi, I am going to be starting HRT in the very near future and was just wondering about some things. My face has very soft features, and I have smaller hands and feet. My issue is that I am about 5'9 240 pounds. I am dieting to lose weight, and honestly carry it very well. I have a thick muscle mass on my arms, shoulders, back and legs from football and weight lifting when I was younger.
Now, I understand that HRT will decrease the muscle mass some, but will I still be able to obtain a female figure? I dont really concider myself to be large boned since hands, feet, forearms and calves are all normal to smaller in comparison to larger muscle areas. Also, will HRT effect facial features? I have very soft features already, but I am worried about not being passable, and if I dont need FRS surgery, I would prefer to not have it lol. I actually look alot like my sister, but with some male differences. I am not expecting to become a beauty queen, and I know I have alot of work ahead of me. I just cant seem to find the information I would like online, and my doctor is being a little vague on some things. May be I just dont understand her though. Any information would be so appreciated! Thanks.
Jamie
Hi Jamie, I am not sure about all the effects as I have not started HRT either but a I have heard that you will loose muscle mass and I think the same will happen for you but it does take time, it might take 1-4 years before you start seeing your female shape, I personaly can;t wait to start HRT but I have to, good luck and hang in there, aloha from Hawaii.

All being well I'll be in a better position to comment after this Friday, when I see the Endocrinologist.
