Title: have you had any interesting moments in changing?
Post by: xxUltraModLadyxx on April 06, 2011, 06:06:12 PM
alot could happen. maybe someone you bump into someone you haven't seen in a long time, and they are confused because they think you look oddly familiar to some guy/girl they used to know. or some family you haven't seen in a long time, and you've been in the process of changing sex, and show up as you. so what was probably your most amusing moment? it is kind of funny when you don't take it so seriously. one of my neighbors drove by me in her car while i was walking down the street. she must've told my mom about this, and said she "thought i was a girl." i just had to laugh. i think i have much more of these moments to come, but i just laugh my guts out, because i'm so tired of caring.

I had the BG guy talk to me for like a half hour about were I went to school to be a mechanic and how he thinks it's so cool that there is a women mechanic in a shop that he services.  He also was saying that his girl wants to be a mechanic so he wanted to see if I would talk to her about being a woman in a mans world.  I was laughing inside the whole time we were talking.

Sometime around 2000 or 2001, I was competing in a tournament and ran into someone I knew from the same event about ten years prior.  They recognized the last name and asked if I had a brother who had previously competed...I just said I did not think so but it was always a possibility.

Kudos! I look forward to something like this happening to me some day.

I had a neighbor who I had talked to a few times. She saw me dressed as me and said, "You two must be related. You look so similar." But, then when I looked at her, she realized who I was.

I think one interesting episode was several years ago when my then-wife and I took two of our kids to a hotel for the weekend. Sometimes she would take the kids to the indoor pool, and sometime I would. This was overheard by one my kids who reported it to me. Child to mother: "Why do those girls have two mommies?" Parent response: "Maybe one of them is an aunt."

I had a couple of things like that happen to me.

When I went to change the name on my social security card, the clerk asked for my old card. I gave it to her, and she said, "No, I need your card. This is your husband's card."

In Minnesota to change the gender on your driver's license, you have to get a variance letter to present at the DMV service counter. It's the same for that you have to use if you don't have a birth certificate. So I presented my paperwork at the counter, and the clerk said, "That's funny. You look like an American." Nothing said about the "F" marked on the form.
