A few weeks ago, I had learned that a cross-dresser friend had been involved in a automobile accident on her way back to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was dressed while driving, and when the paramedics pulled her from her car, they ripped her dress and tore at her pantyhose as they transfered her to an EMS vehicle. She's doing fairly well now, but her truck was totalled and she was told not to drive until April. Her doctor told her that she may have suffered from a slight seizure. Recently she told me that if a police officer were to pull over a transsexual or a cross-dresser for no reason, it is wrong. If your valid driver's license is good, it is good all the time, regardless of how you are dressed. Even after my accident, the state police did not say anything about my license.

I'm very happy  :) to hear that your friend is okay. SHe's right about the police pulling you over. They have to have a probable cause for doing so.

My friend is recovering very well from her accident, but she just recently told me that she may be driving a little sooner than she had expected. So she's kind of excited about going out and finding a new vehicle!

I just joined the group here, and I am a police officer  :police:. Unless there is probable cause to pull you over like drunk driving or someother traffic violation. Unless like me who is an admirer and wants to see you up close and personal  >:D..and yes..I have pulled over a TV...we dated for over a year.. ;)

                     That kind of behavior is illegal and unprofessional.  I would expect lots more from a police officer but then there are disappointments among people in all walks of life.

Glad your friend is OK.  She really needs to find out if she had a seizure.  If so then she does NOT need to be driving.  For her sake.  Next time she may not be so lucky.  Has she been checked out to drive?  In my state you have to have a medical release after any kind of seizure.

Thanks for your concern Kristi. I will ask her about her if it was a seizure that she had and if they will allow her to drive. Eight now she has been enjoying the exercise of walking.

I must agree with Beth on what was posted by no name, that that kind of behavior is illegal and unprofessional.  Last year I was in a situation like that, but nothing much came of it. But that's another story . . .

As far as I know, no state or Canadian province has any law that says your clothing and outward presentation must match your gender indicated on your ID. I drive dressed all the time.

With all the pressure society places on a person to dress as a male or female, remember, there is actually NO DRESS CODE. The only laws about clothing are about public nudity. A man or a woman is entitled to wear a dress, wear makeup, have his hair grown long or anything he or she wants as long as they do not fall under the nudity laws.

However, when you talk to the police just admit to them you are crossdressed or a transexual and every where I have been, they're cool with it. However, if you have been picked up for DUI, request a jail outfit or the like before you are placed in a cell. Myself, I always carry a pair of sweat pants, a T-Shirt and some tennis shoes in the back of the car, just in case. As you don't want to be in the men's lockup wearing a dress.

Thanks for the post Danielle. Whenever I'm out dressed. I have no problem , and if I do ever get stopped, I'm very honest with the officer. Are you full time or part time?

OMG I had this super rude copper give me a speeding ticket (55 in a 25 total speed trap) one time, my DL still was the old male me I was dressed kinda androgen, with makeup and a ponytail shorts and a blouse when he gave me back my ticket he made the "M" very large and obvious and his comments were crudish Sir do you know why I stopped you, heres your ticket SIR etc. a real jerk I just told him yes sir and thank you paid the fine and that was it.

Thanks for your concern, girls. My friend Stephanie is doing quite fine. She recently told me that her son will be letting her borrow his car for a while.

Hey Ssindy, unfortunatelly you'll run into those types. Last month I had a flat tire, so I pulled off to the side of the road. I jacked my truck up and went to get the spare and it was gone. I had to call my father for assistence. We went to get a new tire (which took an hour) and right before I'm leaving the store my cell rings and am asked a few questions and then I'm told that I could be charged for obstructing traffic and a towing charge. I told the officer where I was and that I'd be back in 15 minutes. I was able to beat the ticket and the twoing charge. But the thing that really urked me was that my left tire was on the yellow line, so I didn't see how I was obstructing traffic.

Courts via the police have been know to "pad" a ticket just to get more cash, or the old way was to drop one charge to make you feel better.

But if you are close to the fog line your car/truck can get hit very easy.

Any cop can invent a probable cause.  The slightest weave or swerve, no signals, whatever.  What the Supreme Court has said several times is that pretty much any cop has a right to pull you over at any time, as driving is a licensed privilege, not a right.

LOL  :laugh: My guess is that you don't actually pull over women at random because your attracted to them. You just added that part as a way to tell us girls that you're interested in meeting some-one new and have dated a t-girl before  :laugh:

When some-one is wounded, sometimes it is necessary to remove various clothing. I doubt that EMT.s would purposely damage anyones clothing for no reason

Hi Loni, nice "necro-post." I wouldn't expect a response from the original poster, since this happened over two years ago and that person isn't around anymore. ;)

But "disguising my identity"? How ridiculous. I'm not "disguising" a thing. When I go to a bar or liquor store, I show the same state-issued legal ID as I show cops. I've had no problem. Nonetheless, I avoid places like Kentucky on general principle and for personal preservation.

Having worked as an EMT at one time.  Depending on the circomstances, clothing would be remove to better access the body, wound inspections, heart attacks, present of blood not from facial wounds.  Same with pantyhose.

Always have a carry letter that explains your situation, in case you are not capable to communicate.
