Title: Hey, she's trans..or maybe not.
Post by: Tesseract Allen on April 09, 2011, 10:58:14 PM
Lately I've been looking at people a whole lot more and I've started marking Cis-gendered women as trans sometimes. I think it's my brain trying to find the familiar/safe people I might be able to group with or something but there have been women that I've been sure are trans when they werent.

I was doing that about six months ago. lol. I started looking hoping that I could make friends or something. I have made new friends that know I am trans, but none of them are. but that is ok because we can blind if we are more open with people. Just one person at a time makes a big differents in freeing yourelf from the years of keeping thing to yourelf.

When you decide who you talk to and become friends with, based solely on appearance, that's when you know your life is messed up! I have far more in common with the typical woman than with the typical transgendered woman, so I'm certainly not one to complain that there are few people specifically like me in appearance. Why would I go out of my way to look for one? However, most women in the business world are so competitive that you don't really know if they're being friendly or just waiting for you to slip up so that they can step up. My best friend is my exercise buddy. Take your vitamin E's daily: Encouragement & Endorphins!

Sounds a bit like when you buy a new vehicle and the roads suddenly seem to be full of them!  Maybe you are trying to seek safety and reassurance in numbers.  If there are lots of other transwomen around then you don't feel so isolated or vulnerable.

It does take a little while for our "TRANS-DAR" (sorta like GayDar) to get the bugs worked out of the local units.  On the other hand, its a real hoot when we realize that GG's come in trans shapes, and maybe we didn't have to worry about getting read as much as we did.
