Title: Comparing progesterone delivery methods
Post by: Debra on April 11, 2011, 02:28:34 AM
Does anyone have any experience with progesterone injections? or other delivery methods?

I have been taking Prometrium (orally) from June 2010 to Feb 2011. After I had surgery, I went down again but now I'm trying to work with my doctor to figure out what other options are out there because I just don't feel like it's doing much of anything for me currently.

I have had good results with estrogen injections (vs. oral) so I figured I might want to do that but from what I've read, most types of progesterone have a very small half-life so they have to be administered every few days (at longest).

Have any of you used and/or had good results with Progesterone in general and what brand or type did you use? Oral? Subliminal? Injectable? Suppository? Cream?

Also I'm curious about trying Prometrium vaginally. I've read that the same capsules you take orally can be used vaginally..... but I'm not sure if thats still the case with a neo-vagina, esp one that is only a month post-op

Any info / experience appreciated, thanks!
