I went to a restaurant alone.next to me was a woman with a child. The child was a young girl. The little girl was like soooo cute and funny. On the drive home thoughts were going through my mind about the life i never had.I would have traded anything to be that woman with a beautiful little girl and be a mom.I can't blame it on the world anymore.that is a cop out.I was afraid, afraid of how i felt,i thought i would get hurt in the world if i cared to much. But now as i am writing this,i just feel"the hell with the world". Maby if i had said that 25 years ago maby i could have been the woman sitting across from me.(She had beautiful blonde hair by the way).I mean why did i fight this so hard, for what ,to fit into a society that for the most part is all about keeping up with the jone'es( i live in the suburbs, sorry). And they are miserable let me tell you, million dollar homes and the biggest ->-bleeped-<-s you ever want to meet.I mean i never want to become one of these people.I care about things maby too much ,well thats another story
Hi Barbara, I can simpathize with you, as I have felt that way many times. 16 years ago I thought if only I did this when I was a teenager etc.. You can't look back, you can't "shoulda , coulda,' woulda..... Look at today (sounds hokey) but it helps.. And you are right we did do it for society, but thats the cards that were dealt. Do something for yourself today and tomorrow LOL why not!
BTW I do agree the Jone's are a-h*les lol
Thank's staci ...I will

Barbara:
Know what, hon? May I say that I agree with you 100% especially in the portion quoted above? Well, I do agree with you ... very much. Hey, I've felt that way too ... for years.
Just this late afternoon, I was at Starbucks in a bohemian neighborhood within walking distance of where I live. There I am reading a counterculture newspaper (a great one, let me tell you) and I think:
Heck with this crazy society. If I had to, I could go live with the hippies. There are bunches and bunches of them around this area and I'm talking about the good ones rather than the party zonkers. Honestly, I could so do that. Our society is insane. Over the holidays, I faced a job loss and was almost homeless. Well, if that every happens again, forget the streets, forget the homeless shelter, I'm off to the commune with the hippies. This greed-power-clout society of the mainstream is crazy ... just crazy.
Maybe this is before your time and probably is, but anyway, here's a great quote for you:
Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it.
John LennonHeck, I remember when he said that, and I've agreed with him ever since. Hope John's quote makes sense to you. Actually, I believe it does. Thanks for listening.
Yeah, I feel for you, Barb. Hugs!
;) Lacey
I was born a hippie,i will never change ( thank god).If you could get to new jersey you would never be homeless again, not as long as i am alive. This might sound fanatical or crazy but if anything were to happen maby the hippies would be a safer bet.I am not a doomsayer, but come on, look around, endless war(terrorism),an economy teetering on collapse.global warming, earthquakes.overpopulation, extinction of animal species by the day.,rising energy costs(because we are running out and they know it)diseases on the rise. The list can go on
Barbara:
Hey, hon, looks like we're totally spiritual kin. You are in New Jersey? Wow, like I grew up in Pennsylvania ... the hugely, majorly, immensely industrial part. Now, I'm way out west and up north. Many, many of the Haight-Ashbury hippies are here now having come here after the scene fizzled in Frisco. Major hippie commune nearby where I'm at ... major. Honestly, that's where I'm going if things tank in my "normal life" in the mainstream which I absolutely destest as you can well imagine.
Somehow, I believe you may get into a link or two or three, so why not?

Sorry to come on strong here, hon. However, looks like we kind of recognize each other all the way across the country on the Internet. Figured you might like to read these sites. If not, ignore me. If so, get into it. Feel free to private-message me anytime.
