Title: Is it rare of me to like woman's clothing?
Post by: Ribbons on April 21, 2011, 10:57:42 PM
It seems like most FtM, and men in general, wouldn't dare try and wear them. I don't know why, girls have so many different styles. It's not fair how girls get to wear the nice stuff. If girls can wear boys clothes, why not the other way around too?

I like male clothing, but I like female clothing too. Unisex clothing is fine with me too.

Clothing is clothing to me. If I like it and it's suitable for the weather, I'll wear it.

Eh, I personally can't stand to wear girl clothes, but I've heard of FTMs who crossdress. Whatever you're comfortable with, really.

If you like it, don't worry about it, you know?

In the case of cis males, I think it does have to do with generally society being homophobic, concerning the bible, marriage, dating, etc. Males who want to/ need to be read as heterosexual, be sure they present themselves as muscualine as possible and stay clear away (at least in public) from anything that might arouse a suspicion. It really takes some balls for guys to crossdress.

In our case is simple. We sometimes need to try harder for others approval( to be accepted as male by friends, family, and to access to medical treatments). Unfortunately, if you don't fit into the traditional male type it sometimes arouse suspicions and cause trouble so.... It sucks but some people are dumb  and unable to think the other way >:(

I don't think its rare to like girls clothing. In fact, I want to try some sexy corset and tighhigh stilettos in a drag queen sexy way xD

Me personally, i love male clothes. i just like the way they look, and feel, and always have. ive never been a  fan of womens clothes. ill be walking through the store shopping with my friend and ill look at what shes looking at and i just think what do they like about this stuff. but thats just me i like the way they look on women just not on me. ive also heard of other ftms who like womens clothes. and i think partypoison made a very good point on why most males dont crossdress. its not weird to like womens clothes, you like what you like, and it doesnt matter what others think.

I like women's clothes, better than men's clothes for the most part, there's just so much more color, styles, and variety.  I like designing them too.  But I don't feel comfortable wearing women's clothes.  I wish it was more socially acceptable for guys to wear some of that stuff.  I mentioned to my last shrink about maybe doing drag one day after I transition and she said, "Oh, you don't want to be a transvestite!"    :-\

this..
I never understood what girls are supposed to do with all that different stuff. I stick with jeans and hoodies most of the time to be safe. I do like tight jeans though, just not if they make me look like a girl. apparently, in Britain tight pants means you're famous.  :icon_chuckel:

I don't mind womens clothing. I have a fashion designer for a sister, so I've been brought up around some of the most awesome custom clothes around, there's also that opportunity that if I can think of it, she can make it, so anything is possible.

As it is, womens clothes make me very uncomfortable, I can't wear them at all, and really wouldn't want to. But I'll still look at a dress in a store and think it looks awesome, or go totally gaga over a pair of amazing black boots etc. Perhaps one day, a long way down the transition road, I'll be okay to crossdress for special occasions, like going to a convention or something. I think it would be cool to dress totally crazy just for a day.

But day to day, no way man, waaaaay out of my comfort zone.

I love wardrobe makeovers. I love What Not To Wear. I love dresses. I love a cute shoe. Just not on me.

Personally I really enjoy woman's clothing such as party dresses, plaid skirts, school uniforms, some lace here and a bow there.  However where I like it is on women not on myself.

Before I began to transition I absolutely hated woman's clothing because of the threat it displayed.  I absolutely knew that if I tried to wear any of it, everything would be awkward and awful.  Yet I repeatedly tried, as it was expected, and felt very uncomfortable every time.   Now that I'm apart from that I have gained a whole new appreciation.

I recently accepted myself as ftm, but before then, I wore girl's clothes and I was ok with it....incredibly jealous of the men's styles, but still ok with wearing female clothes.

NOW, on the other hand, it physically pains me to put on my old clothes! I have much more female underwear than male underwear and have taken to doing laundry way more often just so I know I
l'll be able to wear clean trunks  8) haven't touched the thongs since.

I try to wear things that make me feel hot - so whatever that means to you, go for it!

This, more or less. I realized years ago that I bought half the girlie ->-bleeped-<- I did just so I could hang it up and look at it, honestly. I love clothes, I like making them and I like looking at them, and to me buying a dress that'd sit in the closet wasn't too much more ridiculous then buying a painting or something and having it in a room of the house you didn't go into often.

Currently? The only girlie ->-bleeped-<- I'll wear is pants, because I've got a hell of a time finding men's pants that fit right. Shoes, I'm practically surgically attached to my boots or my converse (and always have been) and shirts don't really matter much, since I'm always stuck wearing something over it.  Oh god, and sunglasses.
Does that count? I think it probably should. I've got a horrible habit of buying those big-ass sunglasses, but I don't give a damn. I love them. My eyes are ridiculously sensitive, I hate eye contact more than you can imagine, and goddamnit THEY ARE CUTE. Plus the really small/normal guy sunglasses make my face look really...odd. Probably because it's so damn round.

No, they aren't. They are feminizing.

For the most part, I hate wearing girly clothes. But I think it would be fun to cross-dress once in a while after I've transitioned, just to confuse the hell out of everyone  ;)

I'm new but I seen this older post about a passionate subject for me. I might have a fetish for women's clothing. It is hard to find styles that fit and don't show my male frame as much. I drive around to neighboring towns and shop at Goodwill stores. I  can spend hours so I keep rotating stores to feel less conspicuous.  It is such a fun time that I no longer care who is around.  I have had some funny looks but nothing real offensive.  The humorous part is checking out and they will look at a pair of jeans and ask are these men's??  I say no, women's and they shrug their shoulders and we usually start a very friendly conversation. I buy intimates and some articles  at local retailers.  I don't shop much on line because it seldom fits like expected and returning is a bugger.

Many hugs,
Louis

You could be shopping for a wife or female friend or relative. They don't care, they got the sale.  ;D

If you are woman, CIS or MTF, or a male who likes to crossdress, then yes, wearing female clothing is likely appealing.

I wear my female clothes with great satisfaction.  They affirm my womanhood.  They are nice.  They make me look prettier.

Nowadays it is a part of my everyday life.  Would I wear guys clothes?  Only when I should for some very good reason.

Christy,
You hit a note saying it affirms womanhood. I agree. Picking clothes also shows who I am. I filter on what would embarass me, reveal too much, comfort, warmth, but yet feminine. Some Jean types fit and some don't.  I try to be true to myself. I believe society will accept female Louis if I respect some "acceptable" rules. I am not flamboyant so I don't dress that way. I want to portray the woman I feel inside as my true self. Maybe someday I will be able to be seen in public as a woman with a little bling, some sway in my step, head high, shoulders back, comfortable,.. but clearly female.

It doesn't hurt to dream?? At least I don't want embarrassment  to cause pain to my dream and then stop dreaming.  Dreams need to be lived to experience a level of happiness.

Criticism to theses thoughts is welcome.

Many hugs,
Louis

I think it best to dress conservatively for myself, it does not necessarily draw attention to me, and I actually prefer the classic styles.  Jeans do differ in fit that is for sure.

I have not started hormones or coming out to more than my wife and neighbor. I do wear women's clothes as much as possible. Kind of a security blanket to keep the feminine soul warm.  It takes some shopping to find items that fit and don't create ridicule. It is hard but I so enjoy shopping. Wife does not know about all the trips to the store as she does not approve transitioning and wants me to purge my mind of it. I keep my female wardrobe to the front of the closet to help her accustom to it. Womens underwear bottoms are comfortable when I found the right ones for me. A little lace is great. Jeans are fairly easy and button/zip is the same. Smaller pockets are hard because I am not carrying a purse YET. I have found some great sweaters. Colors and styles can be accepted in the male world. Have not braved sporting other tops so t-shirts are a daily staple. Tried on a few tops but my farmer tan on arms and neck looked ridiculous. I tan real dark so need to spend some time in the sun with less clothes.  Not sure how to accomplish this as I have shy skin.:D  Nightime is my favorite as my wife allows satin and lace nightgowns. Wearing them helps me sleep a lot better. With my aches and pains age has gifted,, these snug slippery gowns allow easy rolling over through the night.

Many hugs,
Louis

I'm currently at the mall while wearing female shorts. Most of my clothes are masculine, but I like some feminine clothes and accessories at times.
