Title: catching up to my peers: questions about "T"
Post by: anibioman on April 28, 2011, 08:14:09 PM
i am young and i really want to catch up to my male peers in terms of puberty, voice deepening, facial hair growth all that good stuf that comes with testosterone. i just wanted some advice on whether to take injectables or cream. ideally i want to catch up to my male peers and then follow in the path of a normal male puberty. so i need a bit of advice.

You're better off speaking to your doctor but...

Generally injecting T provides a bigger spike of hormones that tapers off and then there might be a small period of hardly having any of it in your body before you get the next shot.

Gels and creams you apply every day afaik, so it's a steadier level of the hormones. I would still recommend you speak to your doctor about it. It might be different since you are still young.

I agree with Phate, you need to consult the doctor.
For quicker results, the shots are recommended...plus the cream takes more care as in, making sure you don't pass it on to others via contact.

The shots are definitely cheaper. So should you end up transitioning, I'm willing to bet you're going to end up self-injecting.

As for catching up. . . I started T last September and I'm catching up to my peers pretty well as it is. Voice, hair, etc is all coming along really nicely. So if my experience is anything like yours, you won't have to worry much about time.
