Title: Tennessee Susansfest/Clarksville Pride in June!!!
Post by: Brianna on January 28, 2007, 01:30:09 AM
On Saturday, June 16th  Clarksville, TN the town Susan lives in will be holding their Annual Pride event.

One of those who will be present is Calpernia Adams, the subject of the highly acclaimed Showtime movie "Soldier's Girl," will be attending Clarksville Pride of June 16 as an aclaimed speaker for Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender issues.

"Soldier's Girl" focused on the events leading up to the murder United States Soldier after it was revealed he was dating a well known Tennessee transsexual. The movie has been said by many to be one of the most representative of transgender issues.

"I played at the same park as she did as a kid," said Susan. "Everyone can come to Clarksville Pride, we can have a Susan's Fest, and maybe even
setup a Susan's Place booth."

I figure we can have the Susan's fest over the weekend 15th, 16th, and 17th. While Pride is only one day we can socialize for the other two..... opinions?

She's not but she makes a special trip here every year to attend this pride event.  If this goes further I can look into rates and group rates at the hotels near where I am...

Hmmm... my birthday! I've been indulging in the delusion of going full-time in June, so... how fitting :)

A 14 hour drive? Not so bad... pencil me in as a MAYBE.

Susan, thank you for the invite, I found the thread.
The 16th is my ex-wedding anniversary (with my ex husband)...I can't think of a better way to spend it ;D then out there with all of you. No promises yet, but if at all possible I would love to come and have Brooke by my side...

As of now it looks like Clarksville Pride is canceled for this year and that would mean the Susan's Fest too. But if anyone wants to come to town to visit, toss me an email and I will give you a number to reach me at. Sorry to everyone who was looking forward to attending....

That's the same weekend the Portland Pride is and that is something I have to be in because of a prior commitment.  If the Susan's fest were held after July, I would have a much better chance of being able to make it.  Originally it was suggested that it would be held in Las Vegas because of the airfares and hotels being cheaper.  It's still a consideration.
