Title: Adhesive Recommendations
Post by: Constance on May 06, 2011, 11:18:45 AM
The adhesive on the backs of my TrueKare breastforms is pretty weak now. In fact, while bowing at zazen last night, the left one detached entirely and I had to discreetly put it back in place while still in the zendo.  :-\

TrueKare offers tape at their site, but it not a lot of tape for what seems to me to be a lot of money.

Can I use any medical silicone adhesive for silicone breastforms? Are there any recommendations?

Well as a short-term plan, you could try making a "ring" of medical tape and somehow attach it like that. Other then that I would look in an online CD store or (if I could)  ask a friend for some.

As an update, I tried the adhesive "It Stays" by Lucy's International. It was recommended by TrueKare.

It doesn't work.

I don't know if it's that I'm not getting my chest smooth enough (I even tried a fresh razor) or if the 42C breast forms are too heavy or both. But, It Stays just doesn't seem to work all that well.

You might try Hollister medical adhesive.

It's a spray-on and works very well.  Spary it on the back of the breast form.  Place it on your breast and squish it around a bit to spread the adhesive.  Remove the form for about a minute and then re-attach it (carefully to get it in the right place).  It should stick well.  Hold it in place with your bra for 10 minutes or more and then you can even go braless if you like.

To remove the form, pull it very slowly from your skin.  There is a special adhesive remover but it didn't work for me as well as GooGone from Walmart.  You can wash the adhesive off the form and your skin with that.

It isn't cheap - $35 for a small can (that does last quite a while) at medical supply stores.  You can find it online for as low as $20 sometime.

Good luck.

Julie

You can try Pro Flex tape fro Hair Direct.  It is used for their hair pieces and it does stay.  Just a thought.

I just used the Holister Medical Adhesive yesterday for the first time. The forms were only on for about 4 hours, but they stayed in place, even when I took my bra off that night. It's just great stuff!

Thanks!
