Title: Name Change
Post by: Stephanie2664 on May 06, 2011, 05:49:37 PM
Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that my name has been legally changed.  I will be forever known (legally) as Stephanie Marilyn.   :)  The old name of James Charles is gone, burned beyond recognition and buried.  Put a fork in it.   ;D

It took me an extra hurdle (felonies from my younger years) but after a year of fixing, the State of Arizona just granted me my name change.

Have a great day.

Congratulations, Stephanie.

I was able to get my gender marker changed at the same time as my name change.   Getting that driver's license (with the picture of the pretty girl on it) changed my attitude and my life forever.

No longer did I fear being asked for ID.  Now, I'm happy to produce it.

     All the best for you.

Congratulations! It feels good getting that all finished, huh?

It is an extremely great feeling.  One more hurdle I have behind me.  Though I won't be able to take full advantage of this until I get back home in about a month.  (I need to go back out on the road and hopefully the paperwork will come in the mail before I get back home again.)  But once I return home I can get a new CDL.   :)  That has me very excited.  I can finally get rid of my CDL with it's horrendous pre-transition picture and old name on it.

(An interesting side note is that when I originally got my license there was a clerical error where an F was put on it instead of an M.  That was before I decided to climb out of the bottle and begin this journey, and has been an interesting conversation piece since.   Especially since I started driving truck and showing my CDL has become commonplace.)

Have a great day.
