Title: Got my initial bloodwork back!
Post by: EliNewGuy on May 07, 2011, 06:32:59 PM
I decided to go ahead and get the initial blood testing done so I won't have to waste a trip to get my initial consult with an endocrinologist, and I got my results in the mail today.  I'm so excited - ready to schedule that appointment!  Just thought I'd share.  :D

What're the numbers man?!? You've gotta remember that guys like to compare their numbers with everyone else; whether it's cc's, hp, inches, or ng/dl.... we want to know!

Well, I was kind of embarrassed...My total T was 15 ng/dL, and apparently the range is 2-45 ng/dL.  So, I'm even below-average for a GIRL.  No wonder I'm a hard gainer.  :(

Maybe that means the endo would be willing to bump me into "high average female" right away?  That would be the only good news, I guess.  Unless this number varies wildly with the cycle, but other tests mentioned the different numbers to expect at different phases (my progesterone and prolactin, for example) and this did not.

Very cool :-) thanks for sharing! My natural T level used to be 286 and I'm wondering what it is these days.... I don't really want to pay for another test though but perhaps my insurance will cover it.
Hope you have some luck with getting into the 400 range! My bf says he was recently tested and found to be naturally in the 170 range so he has started taking T. Can you imagine what it's like to be a genetic guy in your late 20's and needing to be on T, hehe. So I wouldn't worry or be embarassed too much whether you're high or low, just the fact that you now know and have a baseline is awesome. Chart the progress!!
