Title: My introduction :)
Post by: carissa1987 on May 08, 2011, 07:56:11 PM
Hello eveyone  :)  Just joined tonight after spending the weekend reading some of the great posts on here and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.  I'm a 23 yo m2f transsexual who is finally taking the steps to becoming the person I want to be.  Like many on here, I've known since I was a young child I was different and then once I reached my teens and entered my early adult years, those feelings intensified and made life a living hell at times as I tried to "block them."  But here I am now accepting who I am and looking forward to the future.  I'm sure i'll have tears, smiles, and all sorts of other things on the journey, but it's time :)

Hi Carissa, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 6600 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Welcome Carissa,

I am sure you will soon learn there are many, many friends here at Susans. You are lucky to start your adventure at a young age. I learned about Jean at a very young age but didn't understand, sad to say.
Anyhow, as I grew so did my desires and love my femme side.

Again welcome to a great family.

Hugs,

Jean

Hi Carissa, it's nice to meet you! I'm a 49 year old crossdresser, but I just discovered Tracey 2 years ago. We will be here for you through all the ups and downs! Hugs, Tracey

Thanks everyone :)  And I am thankful that I'm starting things at such a young age, however I just wish I wouldve accepted it sooner and started much earlier, like when I was 18.  I would probably feel more confident about myself if I had started sooner but oh well.  I'm just glad now I'm on the right path :)  I think my biggest concern is my height though, I'm super tall :(

@ Jillieann
I haven't started talking to a therapist yet, still searching the area for one who specializes in transgender patients.  My area isnt exactly the most GLBT friendly area I guess you could say.

Hi Carissa

Welcome to the forum honey.
Hey, it's a good thing you've find yourself and you are making the necessairy steps.
Your age is perfect, of course we all wanted a childhood in the right gender but as you know, it takes time to find out.
Don't look back and have regrets that you didn't start younger, look to the future and see that pretty lady you will become.
Remember, every minute you are sad about your past will be counting off from your future.
So, live your life on the most pleasant way you can do.
And... the most beautifull women on the covers and the catwalk are tall

hugs
Annette
