i know i want to be a boy
.i'm starting the process, i'm easing into the real me and letting go of what i thought i was supposed to be to please others and not myself...but...welll am i weird for wanting to do this?or just alittle flamboyant?
i'm goth/emo...or what ever.and relatively young (20) and basically i imagine myself as my own personal rockstar.lol so i like dressing in flashy print pants, accessories and colorful tight girl's t-shirts.its a style that suits my personality and i draw inspiration from music and movies like anyone else....i love adam lambert and lady gaga....my style is boyish, my hair is long and black and i love bows and little penny barrettes.i'm known for very very short red hair and clips too.....i want to be me....does this match up with being a boy?

Your gender and gender expression don't have to match up. If you identify as male but are feminine, that's okay. Don't feel less of a male because of it. There are a lot of femme FTM's out there and some on this forum too.
I used to convince myself that I shouldn't transition because of stupid things like, my hands, feet and wrists are too small, I don't like sports, I occasionally like to wear my pink belt, crap like that. I stressed so much about matching my masculinity and feeling male but I just came across as trying too hard.
I love Lady Gaga too and stop and "aww" at babies and cute little animals but so what? :D

Somewhere here recently there was a long post where guys were listing all the feminine things they do. The general consensus seemed to be that it's manly to accept your feminine side.

Just tell people they're manbags ;) I can be fairly girly as well but so can plenty of bioguys, it's nothing to worry about.
As others have said - that's fine! I rather like Lady Gaga, like pink things and am rather camp! =D I personally avoid purses out of personal preference, but my rucksack is hot pink. Be who you want, don't let your gender affect your personality! =)
Take a look back at David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Elton John in the 70's they were all biological males who had what could be termed a 'girly' and flamboyant side!
I am always being told things like guys don't wear tight jeans and muscle tops are too 'Jersey Shore'....oh and guys should be at least 160lbs....lol
At the end of the day just be YOU. This is your life and you can't live it worrying about what other people think or trying to meet their standards. Trust me, I spent most of my life doing just that - otherwise I wouldn't have waited till I was 48 to make the 'change'...
You are unique....celebrate it and don't question it :)
I'm also a FTM more on the feminine side of things. I basically act like a stereotypical gay guy :D it's fabulous! Yeah just be who you wanna be, do whatever makes you feel more comfortable. If you like bows and purses and stuff, it's fine, it's just your own unique style.

I am with Jay on this one. I am a very masculine guy but I like cute animals. I am a sucker for kittens/puppies/baby ducks. We are all real men but with varying levels of masculinity. Plus the fact that if you look at bands like motley crue they wear makeup and feminine clothes but are men.
I think it is always dangerous to look at stereotypes. There is nothing wrong with guys liking nice things, I think you would find many bio-guys would love to stuff that you guys do, but it has been repressed. I really think that you guys should be very proud of yourselves, I know a number of you and find you all very nice men.

This, seriously. Just be you. If that's being a boy who wears candy-colored barettes, then by god you will rock the HELL outta those barrettes. The only reason I stopped wearing makeup and tighter jeans is because I got so sick of being called a girl. When I've finally got a chance to have top surgery, I'll be slapping that ->-bleeped-<- on all the damn time. It's all about comfort. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you have to change yourself to become yourself.

If you have confidence in how you present yourself, that's what matters. I know of a transguy with pink hair who wears makeup and feminine clothes daily, and he rocks the look because it's him. Personally, it took me a while on T to have that confidence, I wanted to look androgynous at least. But the other day, I went out with eyeliner, sequined tiger stripe converse, skinny jeans, a necklace, and a leopard print scarf tied as a belt. First of all, I looked fab. Second of all, I was comfortable with it, and that's most important. Nothing wrong with being a stylish or flamboyant guy.

Hahah that's amazing! :D My mom saw it before I did and kept bugging me to go see it. Since most movies tend to suck lately I didn't think it would be that good but it's now one of my favourite movies. I am excited for the second one too. ;D
