Title: I need opinions (Dr. Zukowski)
Post by: elle2011 on May 16, 2011, 03:17:08 PM
I am considering having FFS with Dr Zukowski in two months and I am starting to become a little worried by some of the work that I've seen from the referred patients. I find that some of them look artificial, a bit freakish and very unnatural. Originally Dr Zukowski insisted that I have EVERYTHING done, including nose, cheeks, and lips although I personally felt I only needed jaw and forehead contouring. Has anyone here had any personal experiences with Zukowski, or seen some of his work, I am starting to get worried. Already put down surgery date down payment of 1k but I will not hesitate to go to another doctor in fear of ending up looking like a freak.
I am considering Spiegel at this point.

HELP PLEASE.

If you don't like the results, you don't add yourself to the list, simply. x3 I don't know what to say about the money you already put down, but even to big prices, money is more temporary than flesh.  I don't have any personal experience, but that's all it should come down to, right? ^^
As for all he recommended, I'd be wary that he sells you more than you aim to buy.  IMO the only real general issue with MtF/FtM facial structure is the lower jaw, and faintly that that the nose or ears may look better a little changed, but I don't pay any extensive attention either.

Gut feeling is the right feeling, and if you have any hesitation, then pause it! I know it can be a dream killer to put off something so precious and so awaited as I am in the same boat, but mine is a financial situation not fear. I have done as you have done and I am sorry, I didn't find his patients attractive, just as you do. I have found the best man for my job, and I specifically stress, bone work exclusive, Dr Ousterhout, but he is phenomenally expensive and hence my extended wait. There is another doctor with quite pleasant results in Mexico Dr Lazaro Cardenas, fairly inexpensive and good. I will probably use him for facelift after FFS with Dr. O. I hope this was helpful, and I wish you the best results hon. Love Inna.

I could be totally wrong , but if you've already put down that sizable deposit it would be difficult to abandon it.  As you are the patient AND the client and it is YOUR face at stake, I believe you have every right and especially the responsibility to tell Dr. Z honestly how you feel about much of his work. Then clearly tell him you only want X and Y and/or Z, but absolutely nothing else.  You should remember it's YOUR money and YOUR face, and hold him accountable to YOUR expectations, not his.  I think if you make this clear during your pre-surgery consultation, he can only take two courses of action: (a) respectfully decline to work on you AND refund your deposit, or (b) perform conservatively to YOUR expectations with the clear knowledge you will not be satisfied with anything else.

Sometimes it's difficult to remember who's in charge of these things.

Very smart plan.  Dr. Cardenas has done some excellent facelifts that I have seen.

The main thing is that this is YOUR face.  You have to be comfortable with it.  Some love Dr. Z's work and some don't.  What do YOU want?  He is very charming and when you sit in his exam room I found it very easy to fall under his spell.  Whoever you go with, you need to step back and consider what you are doing without the pressure of anyone selling you anything.  I would personally rather burn 1K than end up looking like something other than I wanted.

Best of luck to you as you make this decision!

I actually only put down a 1k down payment with zukowski, and have decided to switch to spiegel, which quite frankly, is so promising to me, I am 21 and have been living as a woman for three years and for the most part am fairly attractive. I didn't want to be zukowskis lab rat. Excited for spiegel to come! :]

I think Dr.Z does good work, but his high pressure sales are a little overwhelming.  In my presurgery consultation (the day before surgery) I laid it out for him what I wanted.   All previous consultations and all consultations since he has pressured me to do the works and "finish my face".  I found it to be a little too much.  I had the forehead work done with him, because he does nice foreheads and I like his less-invasive endoscopic techniques.  I did a scalp advance and a brow lift at the same time, and I made it very clear to him that I wan't a relatively minimal brow lift, because I do feel he has a tendency to overdo the brow lift.  I had a lip lift done and again I asked for less than what he normally does.  I also got nose work done, and asked that he doesn't turn the tip up too much, because I also find that he does this.  I have heard many stories in real life and here of how girls are talked into the works, and after going through the process I can see why.  If you are still undecided I can send you some before and afters. PM me with your email address.

I plan on going with zukowski..I do think he oversells but just be firm and clear about what you want. I have seen 3 different results and I'm quite impressed with his work. Jenna if you had to do it all over again with dr. Z would you? And would you mind sharing your before and after with me? I'll pm you my email. Thanks!
