Title: Peeing
Post by: Zrfm on May 24, 2011, 03:30:46 AM
So I got an stp but I just can't bring myself to pee standing up. I stand in front of the toilet and try for ages but I just can't go no matter how bad I need to.

Any one have this problem?

I sometimes have a problem going if I really need to, I dunno why. I find visualising something (mine is myself peeing standing up using my own male junk) can seriously help the issue, so try thinking of something while you're trying. A fountain or a dripping tap or just yourself going, it might help more than you'd think. ;)

And try and relax, don't stress yourself into needing to pee, because that won't be helping.

Try practicing sitting down and facing forward, and when you get that, try sitting down facing toward the back of the toilet. Eventually work your way up to standing, try it in the shower if you are still not comfortable. Holding your breath can cure pee shyness too.

I have that problem when I am using STPs too. I am better if other people aren't around but once someone comes in and stands next to me there is no way I will be able to go.

I think it can be from fear of leaking and/or not used to relaxing while standing.

I've also heard that holding your breath helps. I should give it a try.

Try it in the shower. Once you know you won't make an epic mess (practice aiming at the drain or something) you will feel alot better.

I agree with Mr.Rainey.
Also, if you still can't seem to go, maybe try sitting down at the toilet (you know, how girls go =p) which will bring a natural reaction since most/all of us have had to go like that since we were young, so that should override your body's "alert" that you shouldn't pee since you aren't in the right position/place. then when you're about to go, jump over into the shower quickly and hopefully the feeling to go will still be there and you'll just go like that. kind of a way to override your bodys natural response ^ ^

Yeah, what people have said - it's all about how you were "potty-trained."  You got trained to sit, so your body isn't used to "letting go" when you're not "in position."  If you pee in the shower, you've essentially re-trained your body to allow itself to pee when standing, as long as that water is hitting you.  So you might want to try in the shower first (which is what I'm doing right now anyway because I dribble everywhere but through the tube, it seems...).  Then transition to standing in the shower with the water _off_, so you retrain the body in a safe place but get rid of the stimulus of water hitting you.  That will probably help.

Also, I find that if your bladder is full, it's a LOT easier than if you only have to go a little.

Thanks for all these hints, guys. I have a STP coming shortly and I've got a whizaway that I had before for camping so I could go in the bushes, but could I pee standing up? Could I heck as like! I tried humming a little tune, thinking of England, trying to do the square root of 5,456 in my head...no joy.

I'll try these methods

your body is probably just not used to it, practice peeing while in the shower, i never had a problem with peeing standing, because i always peed standing in the shower, so my body was used to it.

bio men have the same problem: it's a psychological hindrance which prevent urine from being passed when under pressure in any way. The only option is the stall

Yes, i have heard on normal men having the problem and even leaving the restroom without peeing, not even in a stall.

Its called a "shy" bladder, and it happens, I can attest to it.
