Christians Support LGBT Equality
The majority of Christians oppose the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, favor protecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people from discrimination, favor laws prohibiting bullying and harassment against LGBT students or the children of LGBT parents, believe their faith leads them to conclude that the law should treat LGBT people equally, and believe condemnation of LGBT people by religious leaders does more harm than good, according to new polling released by the Human Rights Campaign in partnership with Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research.
Poll Snapshot
The poll shows that Christians of all ages support LGBT equality. In fact, 68 percent of Christians favor protecting LGBT people from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations compared. This number is in line with the 70 percent of overall respondents who favor such protections. 74 percent of Christians (compared to 76 percent overall) favor a law to prohibit bullying and harassment against minority groups in schools, including LGBT students or the children of LGBT parents. 70 percent of Christians believe that when religious leaders condemn LGBT people it does more harm than good. A majority of Christians - 52 percent - also oppose the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, according to a previous HRC poll by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research poll. Finally, an astounding 86 percent of Christians believe their faith leads them to the conclusion that the law should treat all people equally, including LGBT people.

I still often go to Catholic Mass because there is "something" there.
However I don't think half of the things they say is a sin actually are....I think a lot of people today are starting to see that.
The figures seem to be pretty much in line with surveys of the general public here, so I am not surprised. It's the loony fringe that get the publicity for their Homophobia and Transphobia.

I'm still a Believer - I never lost faith in God. I have NO trust in Religions. Religion is one of the reasons I took four decades to figure 'all this' out.
I could expound on what I believe, but it basically boils down to:
- Bigots are mostly who's in charge of Religion, because they seek control and money.
- Churches are not always where you meet God.
- The Greatest Commandment is "Love God with all that you are".
- The Second Greatest Commandment is "Love others as you wish to be loved".
