I was pretty clueless many years ago when I was facing the operation that would change not only my sex but my life forever.

I think  no matter how well prepared someone is for the impact SRS will have on their lives, few can really imagine what it will be like several years after all the healing is done.

For one thing I was in love with a guy named Jerry, we lived in Berkeley.  We considered ourselves outlaws because he was a deserter.  Neither of us counted on how much my being pre-op helped foster a co-dependent relationship or that getting SRS would result in my suddenly feeling freedom I had never known prior to surgery, or my wanting to try my wings.

Hey Natasha, there;s a hornets nest just up the street from me.

Wanna come kick it with me?

Makes me think, just as well some of us are so darn "innocent" we have no goose to fry with anyone?! Well hardly. (Or hornets nets to kick for that matter, heehee!)

Interesting though, because we can get so bogged down with our own more personal issue you know the ones... (SRS, dilating, et al) and not so much how much oil and vinegar to mix into our good-girl house-wifely salad? Hey, or how often to change vacuum cleaner bags?

Yet, it could just be more productive to do just that, 'cause all these old "politburo" issues are only, and ultimately, mind-games/mind-f***ing.
All has somehow that flavour of too much T in the system --- SOMEWHERE.
Peace.
No offence, and hug,
Axelle

Just this week I've been thinking about catching up with the local crew.... they don't know I've had surgery as I kinda disappeared for a year. They've always been cool with other post-ops so when I'm able I'm going to catch up for a drink or two, shall be interesting!
