Hi, not sure where to post this! Should it be in events? I think I just posted it here the last two years and managed to get a couple of volunteers out of it so hope you don't mind if I do it again :)
Transgender Citizens is a an open entry for Manchester's Pride parade with the simple theme of transgender people just being ourselves. That means presenting in the gender we identify as just as we would in day to day life. We chose this because we're an important group of people who deserve public acceptance and recognition that really needs inclusion at Pride. This is the third year we've taken part after two very succesful entries.
In general people think of the Pride parade as loud and colourful with co-ordinated costumes, props and routines but part of Pride's mission is also to represent a diverse spectrum of people and this also includes processions of people in plain clothes such as proud families of LGBT people, openly gay Catholics and numerous charities. Last year we had a similar one for transgender people and everyone involved had a wonderful experience and expressed a desire to do it again!
If this appeals to you and you want to make sure you're fairly represented in Pride this year then you'd be very welcome to join us! We're gathering at the Roman Fort just off Liverpool Rd in Castlefield on Sat 27 August at 11am so if anyone is interested in joining all you need to do is turn up.
We have a facebook page here http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159719640761112 (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=159719640761112) and if you have any questions send me an e-mail at alexgreenwood@gmail.com :)
Best wishes

Just bumping this thread to remind everyone as the parade is in less than two weeks :)
