So for three years I was on estrogen and one of the most commonly prescribed anti-androgens. I was happy with the physical changes in my appearance but I absolutely loathed my sex drive. Even the though of touching myself literally made me gag (weird that I like men huh?) But every 5 to 7 days my libido would get so high that I would have to get release.
Talk about a conundrum. So I talked to my therapist about it . I explained to her that I get more pleasure from the emotional act of sex i.e being with a guy in a romantic intimate setting then I did from physical stimulation. I expressed my intense distaste for my male based libido. The though of getting an erection totally ruins the mood for me.
She contacted my Doctor and shared my feeling with her and the both agreed that putting me on a much stronger and slightly riskier Androgen reducing medication instead of an inhibitor was the way to go. Even on high doses of inhibitors I still had high testosterone levels but with this new prescription my levels dropped within days and my libido has all but abated. And I couldn't be happier. I have a very vivid sexual imagination and I have no trouble enjoying sex even with out orgasm so as long as I don't atrophy too much before surgery they feel I will be ok. Got to watch the liver function real close but I feel so much better with out that annoyance.
Any one else experience this or have an opinion?
CAMI!!!!!!
Wonderful to see you again!! It's been a while. Sorry, I don't have anything specific to relate wrt the issue you speak of (I'm on Suprefact - Buserelin Acetate, and the libido is NOT a problem), I just wanted to let you know I'm happy to see you post. Drop me a line via PM and let me know how you're doing. Lookin' GOOD, girl!
Hi ya Colleen! So happy to see you progressing :)
Hi. I actually was worried about my labido. It had dropped so much in the first month! I never get erections, unless i try, but before this was known, i was scared that i didnt know it could turn "on" anymore and was at risk of letting it shrink and that it would effect srs.
