Would it be difficult to get T and Top Surgery if someone doesn't identify as FTM? I heard it's possible, but hard.
I think it depends on your community & their experience with andro folks. I know several andro folks in my area who on low dose T & have had or are having top surgery. One of the surgeons in our area doesn't require a letter and will do it .... he believes everyone should be able to have plastic surgery if they want it
I'm on a full dose of T and totally androgyn identified. My therapist approved my transition and we had to create a letter just for me cuz I don't fit into her binary letter form. Lol.
I don't plan on top surgery so I can't speak to that bit...I'm planning a reduction and I've not told my surgeon about the gender peice that plays into my need/desire for this surgery. (I'm DDD/F cup. So other reasons are easy to come by.)
If you struggle to find and andro friendly therapist let me know. My therapist does skype appts and I love her, so I'd be more than happy to pass on her info. (though, that being said...she's otherwise rather strict to the Harry bengimen standards of "therapy for 3 months" before writing a hormone letter.
Thanks Sevan!! I don't think I'm going to do hormones anytime soon, but I'll keep that in the back of my mind. How much does the vile cost? How often do you need to buy one?
I'm also a DDD/F and am planning a reduction. We'll see how that goes first.
Well I'm not on injectable T. I didn't find it agreeable... I do the gel. Somehow I get my gel covered by my insurance. (I literally don't know, and won't be asking...lest I jinx it and they take it away) So while it's pretty darn expensive (which is so sad...) I don't have to actually cover it but for a $20-$40 co-pay.
As I understand it though...injectable T can be found under $20 a vial with some searching. As to how fast you'd go through a vial...that'd be a matter of how much your perscribed and how often you do your shot. Some people do weekly, every other week or monthly.

Hi Fumbling,
Are you planning top surgery or reduction? If you're thinking you'll want top surgery later, you may want to wait on the reduction. I've heard it can complicate things if you have top surgery later.
Hello there,
I actually am not sure if I would want top or not. I might go talk to the surgeon about it and see what he/she said. I've heard people say it can cause complications, but I've heard others say it will not. I'd like to find out.
