I think we need some levity and humour.
There was a UK comedian Frankie ?????(help me UK people, tip of my tongue name) who had a televison show called: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, it was set in ancient Rome and depicted a slave who had all sorts of things going wrong in getting to work etc.
So I thought why not get our fun juices going and tell what has happened that was funny for you getting to work.True stories for this one I reckon.
For me I was going to a meeting last week and travelling in a taxi (cab). There was a car crash in front of us a car had driven into the back of a truck carrying frozen chickens, the police were in attendance, my colleague mentioned they must be there to check for foul play ( Ok I laughed my self silly but I'm weird).

The day I lost my last job I was caught exceeding the speed limit on the way there and then a few days later I broke up with my then gf. More tragic than funny but it's all I got :P

My dad's fave. Died on stage.
He used to tip taxi drivers by asking them to have a drink on him, pushing something into their top pockets - when they looked, the something ended up being a teabag.

I walked past a phone box in Exeter yesterday that had this graffiti written inside it:

...well, it cracked me up...
When we were sitting around for break one day, I told this joke:
A cop sees a speeder and turns on his lights and pulls up behind him. The man driving doesn't pull over. After several attempts the cop finally gets on his bullhorn and orders the man to pull over.
When the cop walks up to the driver's window the cop says, "I have been trying to get you to pull over for the last several miles. Didn't you see me?"
The man looks at the cop and says, "Whew, it's not you!"
The cop, confused, asks the man what he means.
The man says, "My wife just ran off with a police officer. I thought you were the guy and you were trying to give her back."
In a room filled with men, they all laughed.
A few days later we were again sitting around the room taking break. One guy says, "I got pulled over for speeding this morning coming to work." We all looked at him waiting the hear the rest. He looked at me and said, "I told him your joke."
"And what did he do?" We were all very interested now.
"He laughed and let me off."
