What was Your weight when You started HRT?

After seeing my endo on friday, I submitted my blood tests this morning and I was asked to step on the scales too. To my surprise, I was still heavier than I expected. I am 176 cm (thats roughly 5'7') and I was ~75 kg with my clothes on - thats around 74 kg without them. Now, I am quite fit - the only fat I have is a little bit around my waist and my belt is actually on its last hole now. My average weight when I was in my late teens was 65-68 kg and my build was that of the lean fit type (think of anything related to light athletics). Now, I suppose I still might have some 2-3 kg of fat around my body, which I could drop via combination of diet and cardio, but I believe that the main issue could be my bones. I know I cant drop my muscle mass yet and HRT is supposed to do that anyway, but what do You think - with 74 kg am I good to start my HRT or am I overweight as a female :)

Depends on your structure I would say... That, and muscle is generally heavy.

I started HRT at 68Kg, and I'm 6'1. Call it a clean slate for HRT if you will.

I'm 170cm (5'7' also about) and 65kg's (143 lbs). I consider myself just fine, a bit chuppy but I like myself this way than to be just a bone and skin. Haven't started HRT yet, but just today made an appointment to a doctor next month, who is willing to prescribe it to me. Don't plan to loose too many kilograms in one month  :)

I also think that you are in healthy weight range. With 176cm, isn't that like 5'9'?

Started at 6'0", 180lb.
Now at 173lb.
Heading for 160-150, possibly less depending on if I look ok at that point.

I am 5'7" starting weight was 178. I am now 163 trying to get to 155, possibly lower but so hard to lose weight when there is not a lot of exercise I can do. So all the weight I lost was by diet alone.

Huh, well it seems that I'm overweight compared to all of you :(

Just don't see myself fat though...

Then again I'm most likely a bit older than most of you. I had some 20 to 25lbs less weight ten years ago.

6'  (183cm), and 270 lbs (122kg) on July 12, 2012.   I was 209 lbs last night, and I want to get down to around 165, but 150 would be wonderfull.   Doing the loss through sensible eating lots of and house or yard work.  But can't pull myself away from eating too much fresh fruit all day  :embarrassed:

Wait... You gained 61lb overnight?
I don't know, but that can't be healthy. :)

Way back in  the day... Started HRT weighing 165lbs (athletic) and 5'10". Lost a lot in two years or so and was 140ish (at leas that old license says so). Been about 10 more years and I'm around 155 now.

I was a hefty 135 or so when I started hrt nine years ago, I gained til I was almost 160 and then I started working again and dropped back down to 135, but now I've gotten it back up to around 145 and holding pretty well. Its tough for me to gain and keep weight if I stay active at all. I'm 5' 10" by the way.

I was at 176 when I started estradiol and blockers at the end of January.

Since then I've lost 18 pounds - I'm at 158 and trying for 150. Hopefully by then the last bits of male belly fat will be gone. Or not.

BTW, I know some girls have wondered how to lose weight after starting HRT. I've been really happy with the "Medifast" diet - about 1200 calories a day. Been losing around 2 pounds a week.

A lot of it seems to be muscle right now due to the blockers - the fat reeeealy wants to stay where it is. ;)

Oh, and I'm 6' 0"...

I'm 5'5" and hover around 150lbs (68kg), and I'm starting HRT in early May. I'm rather self conscious about my midsection, but the rest of me is rail thin. Truly hoping HRT helps even me out, but if all else fails, there's diet and exercise -- which starts right away.

After this last fudge cookie.

Okay, I meant after this one.

*laughs* Who am I kidding, I love sweets. I'll get there when I get there.

My weight when I started HRT was a whopping 270 lbs. Yeah... not cool.

I have been on a STRICT low-carb diet ever since starting HRT, because this is the first time in my entire life that I have really cared about my body, and I knew that my metabolism was going to drop so I needed to get serious about it if I wanted to lose weight. And, well, three months in, I have dropped to 236.0 lbs. Proof positive that it is possible. My best friend went on this same diet, and she dropped from 215 lbs to 145 lbs over the course of a year or so, so it definitely is possible.

I'm going to catch up to all of you darned stick-thin girls one of these days, damn it!!! :P
