yea, it scared the  out of me too.

Don't pinch skin where you inject, that's for subcutaneous. Instead stretch it with fingers. Relax muscle. Needle needs to go in in one smooth motion, completely in and out in one smooth motion as well. Before withdrawing needle, loosen skin (stop stretching it). This is how I learned to do it from my nurse and it works great. I barely bleed, if any.

I've got a nice big bruise on my leg now,  a whole lot easier to remember which leg to shoot up next time.

I set a never end reminder on injection day. it's called left or right depending on the week.

And that description of sticking the needle in gave me the chills!

I self-inject in buttocks. Extremely rare I get a bruise.

It's just easier for me because I have arthritis . I couldn't push the plunger down if my arms were at that kind of angle , I'd like to put it in my upper arm , but the same problem with the angle.
