Different for Girls

A friend introduced me to the movie Truly, Mady, Deeply last Friday.  She said it has all the ingredients of a great love story – it made her cry and cry and cry, it still resonates with her years after she first watched it, and she likes it enough to want to tell her friends about it...years after she first watched it.  I believe I will be watching the movie very soon.

For me, the greatest love story of all time is Different for Girls, another superb UK production, simply because it gave me hope at a time when I was emotionally vulnerable. I watched the movie when I was a student in the UK, barely two years after my sex change operation.  The movie addresses a love story between two former classmates – the one, an uncouth delivery man and the other, an educated transsexual woman working in a Greeting Cards company.
