Well- ITS DONE!My avatar pic is 5 days post op and i'm really pleased. Had the op Thursday morning then had to go back into theatre thursday night cos one side wouldn't stop bleeding. The drain on the left side was removed Sunday but the one in the right was still filling up so hopefully that will be removed today cos it seems to have slowed down. The staff at the Hallamshire were absolutely amazing- they were great with me and also my family- even to the point of ringing my wife at half one in the morning to let her know that i had come back ok from my second trip to theatre. They also let my family use the day room on the ward between visiting hours as we live a two hour journey from the hospital. I really cant rave about the hospital enough. I dont seem to be in any pain at the moment apart from where the drain site is. Thats more uncomfortable than pain tho. Now i just have to try to be patient before i can get back to a normal life. I desperately need to get back to the gym- the only problem i ve found with having my chest surgery is that i now have an uninterrupted view of my stomach and can see how large it really is!

Congratulations young man! You are already looking terrific for only 5 days post-op. Hope your recovery continues to be speedy and your pain manageable. Too early for hugs, so I'll just give you a fist bump!
