Hello Berliegh.
I hope that the weather where you are is better than it is here 🙂
The locking of topics is usually a last resort. Should staff feel that a certain topic has lost its direction, or that contributors have be come belligerent to the point where it becomes detrimental to its members and the site then a topic will be locked. Often a topic is locked to allow for a cooling off period and then unlocked. Before a topic is locked staff will generally warn the participants that their conduct is unacceptable before going forward to lock the topic.
It is unfortunate that this has to happen as its the good topics that suffer along with those who make worthwhile contributions.
New topics can be restarted where locked topics left off and usually these topics can flourish as members can see why the old topic was lock and act accordingly. That being said, should the new topic degrade into a shouting match then it too will suffer the same fate.
Hope this helps.
Steph
Come on Steph, you deliberately avoided the subject my post was highlighting...
The weather here.....if you must know it's cold but very sunny here in the South of England...
Steph, try and understand the resons why some people may still have their genitalia and remember they are not a lesser person becase they are either a she male or still have it through medical or finacial reasons. I still can't see how you can make ramdom jugements in the way that you did. The reason the previous topic was locked was because you were losing an arguement.....
At the risk of catching heck from the Boss let me say one final thing on this issue.
I'm sorry if you thought that I was avoiding your topic, it was not intentional. However I think that you may have miss read my post regarding those who retain their male genitalia. Here is what I said in this post:

QuoteThe fact that I am an Administrator here doesn't mean that I have to believe that everyone else's beliefs are true. It means that I will support their beliefs regardless of whether I believe the same or not, and I will ensure that they are treated with respect and dignity just as everyone else. My support of "She males" on this site for example refers. I am entitled to my beliefs and I have simply stated them here to support an opinion on this topic.
and here in this post:

this is what I said:
QuoteChicks with dicks are seen as perverse and unnatural by society and I doubt very much that this perception will ever change.
No where do I say that or agree that the group of people mentioned are perverse. I said that Society thinks they are perverse. Hey at one time I would have fit into the group of folks who have male genitalia, and there were times that I was called a "chick with a dick" to my face.
I hope this clears this issue up for you Berleigh as I'm afraid that I'm at a lose to explain my comments any clearer. I support everyone's right to be who or what they are, and as such I will support them in their endeavours, just as I was supported in my own.
