This evening my wife and I went for coffee at our local Starbucks.  After placing my order I was standing in the crowd, who like myself, were waiting for their drinks to be prepared.  I was pretty much minding my own business though, when a young woman approached me.  She gave me the friendliest smile and then told me she thought I was beautiful and that she loved my hair.  I was so flattered that she took the time to single me out for such a wonderful compliment.  Obviously, I thanked her profusely for her compliment, and as you might imagine, she absolutely made my day.

Hugs,

Sally

Isn't it fabulous. I remember it sent me to the moon to get a compliment. I was at the support group SnoBall when a cis woman came across the room and told me I looked stunning. Aside from the birth of my kids one of the best feelings possible. Going for more compliments in about three weeks when the next Snoball occurs. Enjoy the moment. Just curious, how did the wife handle it?

I never get compliments from women... I kinda fished for one today from a coworker lol he asked me what kinda books I'd wanna read (since we can get discounted books). Of course I said weight loss books, duh! He said I looked really good in my outfit the last time he saw me... I was shocked because he's very macho, masculine straight male. I'm used to guys chatting me up and complimenting me, but his compliment seemed genuine. I thought that was nice

I remember the first time a girl complimented me.  ::) I was at my friends house for her party and in the middle of it they just asked me and my cis male bff if we wanted them to put makeup on us. I was shocked with it but i went with the flow. When we got out of the bathroom they said i looked beautiful and almost like a real girl. :embarrassed: it made me soo happy that i had to lie saying that my tears were from using the sharpie. I hope everyone can have one of these moments. ;)

Dawn,

You asked how my wife handled it, and really, she didn't have much of a comment.  Even though she is extremely supportive my feminine self-expression, she still sees her husband underneath.  I do think it surprises her though, how well I get along in public when presenting my feminine side, even when I'm not fooling anyone about my true gender.  Her biggest worry is that somehow my presentation will result in someone taking offense.  I think encounters like these, reinforce the notion that I am accepted by most as the woman I am trying to portray, and I hope it allays her fears.

Sally,

That was very nice of the girl to come up to you and say that.  Good for you!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.
Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Be brave, be strong.  Try a little kindness.  I am a brown eyed brunette.

That sounds like a really, really  nice moment, and complimenting your hair seems especially personal, as opposed to commenting on shoes or something like that.  I would probably get all flustered and  :embarrassed:.  Alas, not a problem I seem to have to deal with.

I have found that acceptance and acknowledgement from strangers can be equally rewarding as from those we know best.
Glad you had a pleasant experience with this one.

That's wonderful. I'm glad it made your day. I never get compliments from women. They look me over pretty intensely and I sometimes I get an unfriendly look. Men however compliment me quite a bit so it makes up for the bitchy women here in Denver. 🤭 Unfortunately sometimes guys will compliment me when I am with Tristan. He doesn't appreciate the compliments and gives some nasty looks. Lol

Flattering remarks are awesome for the soul. I've found women are more inclined to show support than guys. The first time I went out my wife and I stopped at a DQ and there waitress have me a really big smile and said she thought I looked great in my dress.
